The couple stop at Susan's 砂漠d 郊外住宅, where Marcel receives a death 脅し over the telephone. In Nice, he continues to receive 脅迫的な phone calls, and Deborah begins taking tranquilizers; one evening she accidentally takes too many and is 生き返らせるd by Robert, an artist who lives in the 隣接する 郊外住宅. Later, Philip 試みる／企てるs to 殺人 her to avenge Susan's 自殺, but Marcel appears, を刺すs Philip, and buries his 団体／死体 in the garden. The next morning, when Marcel leaves to buy two 計画（する） tickets to the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs, Philip and Susan suddenly appear; when the terror-stricken Deborah faints, the couple 麻薬 her, 削除する her wrists to make her death look like 自殺, and 運動 away.
