The hard 核心 workout that wobbles
by MOLLY O'NEIL, Evening 基準
Reebok, the brand that brought Step to the world (and I do mean the world - 98 per cent of gyms across the globe have Step on the 時刻表/予定表), is now planning to 延長する its 支配する on your buttocks with a new programme called 核心 Training 核心 has been on the 時刻表/予定表 of 流行の/上流の New York and LA clubs Crunch and Sports Club LA (たびたび(訪れる)d by the likes of J-Lo, Christina Aguilera and Sarah Jessica Parker) for a year, and is now in 大砲s Health Clubs across the UK.
'We think it's going to be even bigger than Step,' says Stephanie Montgomery, director of Reebock University, which has 教えるd trainers from South Africa, Korea, Thailand and Russia. 'It 控訴,上告s to everyone - even the out-of-形態/調整.'
In America, 250lb professional American footballers have put it into their training schedules, as have surfers, スキーヤーs, サッカー teams and マラソン 走者s.
核心 training 伴う/関わるs standing on a wobble-board and classes 範囲 from Basic to Hard 核心 and 力/強力にする Zen, a class based on yoga and Pilates.
The idea is that you take normal earth-bound training moves, wop them on 最高の,を越す of the wobbly board, and bingo! you're using 20 per cent more muscle just to stay upright. In a basic class, I did squats, 肺s, football kicks, netball 演習s, 圧力(をかける)-ups, jumps, ab crunches and yoga balances, and can vouch for the fact that standing on the board 増加するs the ache, 同様に as 供給するing puerile 楽しみ.
On the ground it's やめる 平易な to forget to 持つ/拘留する your stomach in as you 完全にする kicks and punches, but on a board your 核心 復部のs (which 供給する balance) are all that stand between you and an ungainly 急落する.
核心 training makes 以前 'holistic' classes like Pilates and Alexander Technique look 先史の in their 強調 on oe 団体/死体 part at a time. In 核心 training you use all 団体/死体 parts together and are 絶えず jumping and 新たな展開ing, in a way that 供給するs 機能の strength.
'核心 training recognises that the 団体/死体 is o nly as strong as the weakest link,' says Montgomery, 'which is 一般に the ankles or 支援する. 核心 training strenthens the ankles.'
Every sport you play 回転/交替s the ankles, which may be why 新たな展開d ankles are the most ありふれた sports 傷害. 類似の wobbly 壇・綱領・公約s have been used in エリート sports training and 傷害 rehabilitation for years, which makes 核心 training 特に useful for anyone 戦う/戦いing 傷害 or wanting to take their sport の上に the next level.
'But,' says Montgomery, 'the balance 支配(する)/統制する and 核心 strength it develops are just as important for kids developing モーター co-聖職拝命(式) or grandma who wants to be able to turn over in bed.'
And, of course, 核心 燃やすs fat (8.9 kcal per minute - BodyPump 燃やすs 5.2, Step 9.8) and 'creates long, lean ダンサーs' muscles.' Goodness knows how that's going to look on American footballers.
核心 training classes at 大砲s gyms, selected Courtney's fitness centres and other clubs. (犯罪の)一味 0800 305050 for 詳細(に述べる)s.
