The new boss at 消費者 goods 巨大（な） Unilever has wasted no time making his 示す at the Anglo-Dutch 製造者 of Ben & Jerry's ice cream, Lynx, and PG Tips.

Pa ul Polman used a whirlwind first day as 長，指導者 (n)役員／(a)執行力のある last month to 凍結する staff salaries and 加速する the 会社／堅い's 再編成 計画（する）s, while cutting expensive overseas trips by a third.

This spooked 投資家s sending the 株 宙返り／暴落するing 7 per cent or 107p to 1376p and wiping £1.4billion from the company's market value.

Some took it as a signal that 貿易（する）ing 条件s would 悪化する かなり, while others reckon it is a simple dodge to spare the company's blushes when it 必然的に 行方不明になるs self-課すd 的s.

Polman's comments about the 下降 did little to 安心させる.
