財政上の Mail Extra: Spotting 違法な 労働者s

司法長官, Baroness Scotland of Asthal, says it was an innocent mistake that she 雇うd an 違法な 労働者 as her housekeeper.

Three small 商売／仕事s were 罰金d £35,000 in London, where the 司法長官 lives. A Chinese restaurant in Oxford, just 20 miles from Asthal, paid out £20,000. The 罰金s 普通は appear to go up in increments of £5000 per 労働者 depending on how many 違法な 労働者s were 設立する. 雇用者s can be 罰金d up to £10,000 per 労働者, however.

It seems small 商売／仕事s are 耐えるing the brunt of the “堅い civil 刑罰，罰則s” introduced by the 亡命 and 移民／移住 行為／法令／行動する 2006 which was 器具／実施するd in February last year.

As the 高度に trained lawyer Baroness Scotland, has 設立する out, spotting an 違法な 労働者 is no 平易な feat. Small 商売／仕事 bosses cannot 推定する／予想する 政府 support and sympathy for their slip ups.

So what can they do to 保護する themselves, besides a 衝突，墜落 course in 移民／移住 法律? They should ask to see パスポートs and work 許すs, 移民／移住 status 文書s or letters from the Home Office and 国境 and 移民／移住 機関. Then make sure they photocopy the 文書s after they have checked the dates and 有効性，効力. The photocopies should be enough to 供給する a 'statutory excuse' and 避ける a 罰金, even if an 違法な 労働者 is discovered.
