Students using AI to cheat up 700%, and it's 'just the tip of the iceberg'

Robert Gordon University, in Aberdeen, dealt with 116 出来事/事件s in 2023-24 and 113 事例/患者s were upheld at Glasgow Caledonian.

The University of Glasgow had 130 報告(する)/憶測s last year, with 86 resulting in a 刑罰,罰則, although these 事例/患者s were not やむを得ず 予定 to AI misuse alone.

At the University of Edinburgh, 78 students were penalised for academic 不品行/姦通 伴う/関わるing the misuse of AI last year.

Heriot-ワット University in Edinburgh upheld 42 事例/患者s last year, while there were 38 at the University of St Andrews, 21 at the University of Aberdeen, eight at Strathclyde Universit y and seven at the University of the Highlands and Islands.

Napier University in Edinburgh said it had no recordings of AI 出来事/事件s in the academic years 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24, while Queen Margaret University in the 資本/首都 and Dundee University both said they don’t distinguish AI 不品行/姦通 from other disciplinary 事例/患者s.

Mr Briggs, a Lothian MSP, told The Scotsman: ‘These 人物/姿/数字s show AI is 涙/ほころびing through universities and 原因(となる)ing a 重要な 頭痛 for lecturers.

‘The fact that more than 1,000 事例/患者s have been 調査/捜査するd and proven in the space of a year is hugely worrying, and likely only the tip of the iceberg.

‘AI is 明白に here to stay and we have to live with it, but universities need support in 取り組むing what is 効果的に cheating.
