The developers say the 装置, called Switchmate, means 世帯s can 利益 from smart lighting without the need for expensive rewiring.

Switchmate can be controlled using a 動きやすい phone app over Bluetooth and uses a physical toggle inside the 装置 to move the light switch.

DIM THE LIGHTS BY THOUGHT ?

Imagine walking into your living room after a stressful day at work, to find the lights automatically 薄暗い themselves to 控訴 your mood.

It might sounds like the stuff of science fiction, but this is already possible, thanks to a gadget called Muse.

The 装置, which went on sale in the UK this week, is designed to 跡をつける people’s brain waves, in the same way that fitness trackers count the number of steps a person has taken, or 監視する their heart 率.

使用者s wear a plastic headband across their forehead, with sensors at the 前線 and above the ears, to 跡をつける their brain activity. This (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) is then beamed 経由で Bluetooth to the 使用者’s 動きやすい phone or computer, where it is ‘translated’ into an image of a summer’s day in the country.

People who have lots on their mind will see clouds rolling across the 審査する, whilst those who manage to empty their thoughts will be met by a cl ear blue sky.

The 製品, developed by Ariel Garten, a Canadian neuroscientist and former fashion designer, 開始する,打ち上げるd in North America last year, and is designed to help people relax.

It can also be linked to lighting and heating systems, ーするために change the feel of a room depending on the 使用者’s mood.?

によれば Daniel Peng, co-創立者 of California-based Switchmate, the 装置 作品 like a robotic finger for the lights in your home.

The app can be used to 始める,決める timers so the lights come on at prearranged times or proximity so lights turn on when you walk into a room with your phone.

Mr Peng said: 'Switchmate 許すs you to remotely 支配(する)/統制する your lights 経由で your smart phone, but you can still 圧力(をかける) the button on the Switchmate 直面する plate to manually flip the switch.

'A lot of our 使用者s 始める,決める timers to make their homes look 占領するd when they are away, 広大な/多数の/重要な for making your home safer when you are on vacation.

'You can also have the proximity setting on such that as you approach your home, your lights will turn on automatically for you.'

Many smart lighting 解答s either 要求する switches to be rewired but recently some 製造業者s have developed smart bulbs that can connect to 動きやすい phones.

However, these take the light switch out of the 宙返り飛行 完全に, meaning lights need to be left in the 'on' position all the time for the bulb to work.

Switchmate 大(公)使館員s to the outside of the light switch using magnets and has a button on its 直面する 許すing lights to be turned on and off as usual.

This means that should their 動きやすい phone run out of 殴打/砲列s or they are unable to connect to the 装置, they can still turn their lights on and off.

The developers, who raised $139,000 in a successful 基金ing crowdfunding (選挙などの)運動をする on Indiegogo, are also now working on a 見解/翻訳/版 that connects to the internet.

This means 居住(者)s can turn their lights on and often while even while they are abroad on holiday.

Switchmate is 明らかに 両立できる with two types of light switch - 伝統的な flat 'rocker' switches and toggle switches.

The developers say the 装置 is also thin enough to be used on switches on 多重の switch 直面する plates and the 殴打/砲列 will last between eight to twelve months.

The team behind Switchmate are 現在/一般に taking pre-orders with a 選び出す/独身 部隊 costing $49 (£32). However, at that price, it means kitting out the 普通の/平均(する) home is ありそうもない to be cheap.

The 装置 is 現在/一般に only 利用できる in the US and Canada, but Mr Peng said they hoped to have it 利用できる in other countries soon.?

It also cannot 現在/一般に be used to 支配(する)/統制する lights that use dimmer switches.?
