Phil Mickelson was
脅すing to take the
驚くべき/特命の/臨時の step last
night of jeopardising
his chances of winning
$10million.
The American had
moved into 政治家
position to (人命などを)奪う,主張する the
richest prize in sport
after (警官の)巡回区域,受持ち区域ing Tiger
支持を得ようと努めるd in a thrilling
shoot-out in the
Deutsche Bank
選手権 on
Monday.
That gave him the
halfway lead in the
race for the FedEx Cup,
with its extravagant
特別手当 payout.
But, as
he basked in the glory
of victory over the
world No 1 before a
sellout (人が)群がる in
Boston, the left-hander
明らかにする/漏らすd he was at
loggerheads with U.S.
小旅行する commissioner Tim
Finchem and might skip
this week's third event,
the BMW 選手権
in Chicago.
Mickelson 辞退するd to
go into 明確な/細部s about
his beef with Finchem.
But he did moan about
a schedule that has
seen him have barely a
day off since the Open
選手権 in July.
"My 失望/欲求不満 comes
from continually asking
for a couple of things in
the FedEx Cup that
weren't done and now
I wouldn't feel all that
bad about 行方不明の this
week's event," he said.
The 充てるd father of
three talked about the
allure of going home to
California, where his
six-year-old daughter
Sophia starts school
today.
Finchem, for his part,
must have felt like
pointing out that, since
the season ends next week, Mickelson could
have three-and-a-half
months at home if he
wished.
無視/無効ing that feeling,
however, must have
been a 完全にする sense< /p>
of panic at the thought
of having to explain to
FedEx, who are
pumping $35m in 特別手当
payouts into this
就任の four
tournament play-off
series, why the No 1
階級d player is
行方不明の week three.
Not to について言及する
会合 up with disgruntled (n)役員/(a)執行力のあるs

Mickelson was in
Chicago yesterday for a

予定 to make a 決定/判定勝ち(する)

Even if he
decided to go home, he
could still 勝利,勝つ the $10m

week.
But he would, of
course, give 支持を得ようと努めるd,

Three Englishmen ―

They 嘘(をつく) 23rd,

where even the man
finishing last will
receive $175,000.
