NSW govt open to 裁判,公判 of 医療の cannabis
臨床の 裁判,公判s of medicinal cannabis could happen in NSW, but 首相 マイク Baird is waiting on 詳細(に述べる)s about 規則 and 供給(する) before making any かかわり合いs.
Under a 私的な member's 法案 to be introduced next month by 国家のs MP Kevin Anderson, terminally ill people and their carers will be 合法的に able to carry up to 15 grams of cannabis.
Mr Baird 示すd his support after 会合 Daniel Haslam, a 24-year-old who in 2010 was told he would only live for a few more months.
Asked if he would support a 臨床の 裁判,公判, as 提案するd by the Australian 医療の 協会, Mr Baird said "it may 井戸/弁護士席 be something we have to do".
"I'm open to that," he told ABC 無線で通信する on Thursday.
Mr Haslam began taking cannabis to relieve his symptoms and help を取り引きする the 味方する 影響s of chemotherapy.
His retired nurse mother Lucy and father Lou - former 長,率いる of the 麻薬 squad in northwest NSW - are now asking 政治家,政治屋s to legalise the 議論の的になる 麻薬.
"I was struck with Daniel and the 戦う/戦い he's in. It's heart-wrenching," Mr Baird said.
"I've got 深い sympathy and empathy with their position."
But Mr Baird is waiting to see 詳細(に述べる)s of the 法案 and whether it will 演説(する)/住所 his 関心s about the sale and 規則 of the 麻薬.
"I'll be looking closely at that," he said.
"Let's get to the 詳細(に述べる)s of what comes 今後."
He wouldn't say whet her 政府 MPs would be given a 良心 投票(する) on the 提案, which is supported by the Greens and has 一時的に 支援 from the 対立.
But if the 法案 満足させるs Mr Baird, it seems likely Daniel and his family won't be 軍隊d to break the 法律 for much longer.
"If we can 供給する 救済 to them in those circumstance, 井戸/弁護士席, what 首相 would not want to do that?" Mr Baird said.
NSW 対立 Leader John Robertson said he's willing to work with the 政府 but, like Mr Baird, 手配中の,お尋ね者 to see how the 法案 演説(する)/住所s things such as 供給(する) and 接近 before fully 是認するing it.
"I'm not 令状ing a blank cheque, but I am very supportive of his notion," he told reporters on Thursday.
"If マリファナ is part of the 解答 to 取引,協定ing with those 問題/発行するs as a means of relieving people's 苦痛, then we should be looking at that."
