Kiwi 下落するs low after 脅し to clip wings
The New Zealand dollar was the weakest major 通貨, touching a fresh six-week low after Reserve Bank 知事 Graeme Wheeler signalled 条件s were 熟した for 通貨 介入.
The kiwi was 貿易(する)ing at US85.76 cents at 8am on Friday in Wellington, from US85.82c at 5pm on Thursday. It touched a low of US85.65c 夜通し.
The 貿易(する)-負わせるd 索引 was little changed at 79.94 from 79.91.
It had been 価値(がある) US87.02c on Thursday すぐに before Mr Wheeler raised the 公式の/役人 cash 率 for a fourth 連続した 会合 and signalled that although the 引き上げ(る)ing bias remained, 率s would be on 持つ/拘留する for a period of 査定/評価.
For foreign 交流 仲買人s, his comment that the level of the 通貨 was "unjustified", "unsustainable" and had the 可能性のある for a "重要な 落ちる" signalled he believed the bank's 基準 had been met for 介入 in the market to 運動 負かす/撃墜する the value of the kiwi.
The central bank last used the word "unjustified" in an OCR 声明 in June 2007, after which it sold the kiwi.
"That word is a pretty powerful word," said Sam Tuck, 上級の foreign 交流 strategist at ANZ Bank New Zealand.
"Not 説 that they will 介入する, but the market is 絶対 definitely on notice."

On Friday morning, the New Zealand dollar 前進するd to 91.03 Australian cents from A90.82c, 伸び(る)d to 87.29 yen from 87.08 yen, slipped to 63.70 euro cents from 63.77 cents and 辛勝する/優位d up to 50.48 British pence from 50.40 pence.
