Walmsley unfussed at McKay A-League return

Brisbane 船長/主将 Matt McKay is 始める,決める to return for Sunday's 衝突/不一致 with Central Coast - but 水夫s coach Tony Walmsley doesn't think he'll 追加する much to the resurgent A-League 味方する.

McKay, who was on Socceroos 義務 as the Roar ran out 3-1 勝利者s over Western Sydney last week, is likely to 取って代わる Dimitri Petratos in the starting 味方する.

But the prospect isn't worrying a 確信して Walmsley, who has 支援するd the lesser lights in his midfield over Brisbane's comparatively 星/主役にする-studded engine room, which also features classy Spanish 退役軍人 Corona.

"They don't really 伸び(る) a 広大な/多数の/重要な 取引,協定," Walmsley said of McKay's 傾向.

"Matty's 明白に an international player but we know he's been in the A-League for a long time and we know what he does. He 押し進めるs the ball around; he 作品 hard.

"I said to the boys this morning, (Anthony) Caceres, (Nick) Fitzgerald, (Nick) Montgomery against any three in this league - and you look at (Steven) Lustica, McKay and Corona if that's going to be their midfield three, for example.

"I wouldn't be swapping our players for theirs.

"It's about on the day, can we 支配する in that area of the pitch? And, if we do, we've got the 武器s to 変える."

It's brash talk from Walmsley but it's 代表者/国会議員 of the new-look 水夫s, who are seemingly relishing their status as the A-League's ugly ducklings.

Few tipped them to (警官の)巡回区域,受持ち区域 Perth last 週末 but they won 3-2 while also showcasing Walmsley's new attacking game 計画(する).

"If you look at the stats for the whole 一連の会議、交渉/完成する, we had more 入ること/参加(者)s into the 対抗者's 刑罰,罰則 area and more 発射s than anyone else," he said.

"For the first game, you've got to say big tick for the 業績/成果, big tick for the 意図 and ambition and boldness.

"Let's tread 慎重に now. I don't mean that in the sense we're going to be more 用心深い against Brisbane.

"I mean tread 慎重に before we start raving too quickly about how good we are. We've got a lot of work to do."

The 水夫s have lost defender Jacob Poscoliero for a week 予定 to a hamstring 傷害, with Eddy Bosnar or Josh Rose 始める,決める to 取って代わる him at centre-支援する.
