Leishman feeling relaxed for Open 攻撃する
Beer and fish and 半導体素子s are keeping Marc Leishman relaxed as he 準備するs to spearhead Australia's British Open 強襲,強姦 at Carnoustie.
Three 最高の,を越す-six finishes at the Open in the past four years, most 顕著に a play-off loss to Zach Johnson at St Andrews in 2015, has Leishman believing he will be 権利 in the mix again.
That's why the Victorian only played nine practice 穴を開けるs on Tuesday ahead of Thursday's start on the bone-乾燥した,日照りの links course on the Scottish coast.
"I like pacing myself so I'm still fresh Sunday afternoon when I'm hopefully in 論争," Leishman said.
Two 勝利,勝つs in the US last season propelled Leishman into the world's 最高の,を越す 20 for the first time and he arrived at Carnoustie with 追加するd belief he can collect the Claret Cup after playing in the final group on moving day at the Masters.
But it was his rueful birdie-解放する/自由な third 一連の会議、交渉/完成する at Augusta that taught the world No.18 his most 価値のある lesson: that majors are long, stressful weeks and staying 冷静な/正味の is 重要な.
"I 普通は enjoy a couple of beers here every night. Nothing 過度の - one or two with dinner. I enjoy the beer over here," Leishman said.
"早期に in the week I like fish and 半導体素子s - I'm talking about food, but it's just a good week."
普通は laid-支援する, Leishman 収容する/認めるs the 圧力s of a major can 燃やす any player out.
"But it's a 広大な/多数の/重要な 冒険的な week because you've got the Open and you've got the 小旅行する de フラン, so I'll watch a fair bit of the 小旅行する this week just in the hotel room relaxing," he said.
"It's nice to get out and do an 早期に practice 一連の会議、交渉/完成する and then get 支援する and they're starting to get into the exciting part of the 小旅行する.
"It's good and bad that my family are not here, but it just gives me time to relax. I've got three kids so that keeps me pretty busy at home.
"So I like to get here and just take it 平易な and I find it pretty 平易な to get my mind off ゴルフ."
Come tee time, though, Leishman 計画(する)s on feeding off the big gallery's buzz for Rory McIlroy when he 株 the first two 一連の会議、交渉/完成するs with Northern Ireland's Pied Piper of fairways.
"Any time you get a marquee pairing like that, it's good," he said.
"Not that you need 動機づけ around here, but to be in a group that's going to have pretty high energy. The (人が)群がるs will be pulling for Rory pretty hard, I think.
"So I played with Tiger (支持を得ようと努めるd) at the Masters, and Tiger a couple of weeks ago in DC and I enjoy those high-energy groups.
"So hopefully I can just keep my 長,率いる 負かす/撃墜する and grind, really, just go hard."
