RBA 知事 not 判決,裁定 out 消極的な 率s

Reserve Bank 知事 Philip Lowe is not 判決,裁定 out a 政策 of 消極的な 利益/興味 率s but says it it is 驚くべき/特命の/臨時の ありそうもない.

"In a world that is so uncertain and fluid, I don't think it is 慎重な to 支配する it out," Dr Lowe told a 議会の 審理,公聴会 on Friday.

The cash 率 has been at a 記録,記録的な/記録する low of 0.25 per cent since March in the 直面する of the biggest 経済的な 収縮過程 for 10年間s.

It is 推定する/予想するd to stay that way for several years.

Dr Lowe said the main 利益 from a 消極的な cash 率 would be 刺激するing downward 圧力 on the Australian dollar.

However, he said 消極的な 利益/興味 率s do impair the profitability and efficiency of the 財政上の system, while also 妨害するing the ability to 供給する credit.

"消極的な 利益/興味 率s also encourage people to save more, not spend more," he said.

Someone putting $100 in the bank may only get $95 支援する in five years' time under a 消極的な 利益/興味 率 政策.

In some European countries and Japan, there is 証拠 this has resulted in people wanting to save more.

"So 消極的な 利益/興味 率s can become contractionary ... I don't think the cost 利益 正当化するs 消極的な 利益/興味 率s," Dr Lowe said.

He took 問題/発行する with 委員会 副 議長,司会を務める and Labor MP Andrew Leigh 示唆するing he was putting bank 利益(をあげる)s before 職業s.

"What I want to see is the credit 供給(する) work 適切に because we need banks that are profitable and are willing to 供給(する) credit and that credit 供給(する) markets are not distorted."
