Five things to watch at this year's Oscars bash
Given the 緊張 roiling the country since Donald Trump was elected 大統領，／社長, it is all but sure the Oscars 儀式 will have a tinge of politics
It's no secret that "La La Land" is the big favorite to earn major Oscars glory on Sunday. But there are other stories sure to 広げる on Hollywood's biggest night.
Here are five things to watch for:
- Clean sweep for 'La La Land'? -
"La La Land," Hollywood's love letter to itself, 長，率いるs into the Oscars with a 記録，記録的な／記録する-tying 14 指名／任命s.

Streep received her 20th 学院 Award nod this year for her starring 役割 in "Florence Foster Jenkins," besting her own 記録，記録的な／記録する for the most 事実上の／代理 指名／任命s in Oscars history.
Should she 勝利，勝つ on Sunday, the 67-year-old actress will earn her fourth Oscar, tying her with Katharine Hepburn for the most 学院 Awards in the best actress -- 主要な and supporting -- 部類s.

Comedian and late-night host Jimmy Kimmel will 統括する over the Oscars for the first time, and critics will be watching to see how he pulls it off in 前線 of a television audience of tens of millions.
Kimmel, 49, 直面するs the stiff challenge of keeping the more than three-hour show -- usually the most-watched 非，不，無-sports テレビ放送 in the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs -- 上昇傾向 in a year where no major surprises are 推定する／予想するd and where the Oscars So White 論争 seems to be a thing of the past.
"I've come to 条件 w ith the fact that someone is going to be disappointed in me at the end," the emcee, who recently hosted the Emmys, told The New York Times in an interview published this week.
"I just don't know who it will be yet."
