Joe Biden has 約束d a change in US 政策 on Iran, but the 大統領,/社長-elect's room for manoeuvre with the Islamic 共和国 is 狭くする, and time is running out.
While 去っていく/社交的な US 大統領 Donald Trump has 宣言するd Tehran his arch-敵 and sought to 孤立する it globally, Biden has 示唆するd he would 申し込む/申し出 it a "信頼できる path 支援する to 外交".
Unlike four years ago, the Iran 問題/発行する, centred on 恐れるs it is 捜し出すing a 核の 爆弾, was 大部分は absent from (選挙などの)運動をするing for the 2020 US 大統領の 選挙, and Biden's 提案s on the 支配する are still rather vague.
His 仕事 of trying to reconnect with Tehran 約束s to be difficult as the confrontational approach under Trump has seen Iran's 不信 of the Americans 強める.
Sworn enemies for more than 40 years, the US and Iran have twice come to the brink of war since 中央の-2019 まっただ中に 急に上がるing 緊張s over a 目印 取引,協定 on Iran's 核の programme agreed in 2015.
Trump 片側だけに withdrew the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs from the 協定/条約 in May 2018 and 開始する,打ち上げるd a "最大限 圧力" (選挙などの)運動をする against Iran with 許可/制裁s that 急落(する),激減(する)d its economy into a 深い 後退,不況.
But Trump failed to 達成する his ultimate goal of 軍隊ing Tehran to 交渉する a "better 取引,協定", leaving the way open for Iran to 誇る of the "抵抗" of its people to the American "広大な/多数の/重要な Satan".
"We 緊急に need to change course," Biden wrote in September in an opini on piece that 述べるd Trump's Iran 政策 as a "dangerous 失敗" which in his 見解(をとる) 孤立するd the US and brought Iran "closer to a 核の 爆弾".
- '信頼できる path' -
In the 2015 を取り引きする world 力/強力にするs Britain, 中国, フラン, Germany, Russia and the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs, Iran agreed to 抑制(する) its 議論の的になる 核の programme in 交流 for a 緩和 of international 許可/制裁s.
But in 返答 to the reimposed US 許可/制裁s, the Islamic 共和国 has since May 2019 減ずるd most of its 重要な かかわり合いs to the (許可,名誉などを)与える.
The International 原子の Energy 機関 says Iran has かなり stepped up its 生産/産物 of low-濃厚にするd ウラン, but without 増加するing it to a degree that 許すs 軍の use.

In the op-ed published by CNN, Biden wrote that he would "申し込む/申し出 Tehran a 信頼できる path 支援する to 外交" ーするために bring Washington 支援する into the 2015 核の 取引,協定.
But the US 大統領,/社長-elect also 公約するd to be "堅い on Iran", and said that his country's return would hinge on the Islamic 共和国 coming 支援する to "strict 同意/服従 with the 核の 取引,協定".
While Iran 主張するs the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs can return to the 協定/条約, it says the Americans must first make 修正するs and 解除する all 許可/制裁s reimposed or 扇動するd by the Trump 行政.
Tehran says that this is the 条件 for its return to かかわり合いs under the 核の (許可,名誉などを)与える.
In 最近の weeks, it has even 繰り返し言うd that ーするために re-enter th e 協定, Washington should first 補償する Iran for the 損失 原因(となる)d by the US 撤退 and 許可/制裁s.
- 'Previous mistakes' -

Iran's 大統領 Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday that the next US 行政 has an 適切な時期 to "補償する for its previous mistakes"
Under Biden, the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs has an 適切な時期 to (不足などを)補う for its "previous mistakes," Iranian 大統領 Hassan Rouhani, whose 選挙 in 2013 許すd 会談 on the 核の 問題/発行する to 再開する after eight years of 行き詰まる, said on Sunday.
Iran's foreign 省 said Monday that US 政策 製造者s must change their mentality, language and 活動/戦闘s to signal Washington is "turning 支援する from the wrong path and making up for the past".
But the window of 適切な時期 is tight since いっそう少なく than five months separate Biden's 就任(式)/開始 on January 20 and an Iranian 大統領の 選挙 始める,決める for June 18.
The 近づいている 選挙, which comes after 保守的なs 敵意を持った to the 核の 取引,協定 swept Iran's 議会の 選挙s in February, could sound the death knell for the 同盟 of 改革論者s and 穏健なs around Rouhani.
Ellie Geranmayeh of the European 会議 on International Relations said it is up to the three European countries that are party to the 核の 取引,協定 to すぐに step up 会談 with the three other nations in the (許可,名誉などを)与える besides the US.
"If the 核の 取引,協定 can be 保存するd until Biden's 就任(式)/開始, then the Iran とじ込み/提出する 現在のs a natural area for 新たにするd transatlantic 協調," the Iran specialist said in a 公式文書,認める.
But she 追加するd: "It is also 不明瞭な whether Biden will be willing to 解除する 許可/制裁s that are 関係のない to 核の 事柄s and that the Trump 行政 introduced deliberately ーするために (make) it hard to return to the 協定."
