Rubio on Trump: First a 詐欺師, now better than Clinton

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) ― A dangerous, erratic, 詐欺師 with the worst spray tan ever. That's how Sen. Marco Rubio 述べるd Donald Trump when they were both 捜し出すing the 共和国の/共和党の 大統領の 指名/任命.

Now that Trump is the 指名された人 and Rubio is running for re-選挙, his トン is different. He is no longer 非難するing Trump, but he isn't 正確に/まさに 噴出するing 賞賛する. 民主党員s are trying to make him look like a hypocrite for 支援 the man he 以前 said shouldn't have 接近 to 核の 武器 codes, and for jumping 支援する into the 上院 race after he said he wouldn't.

"Sen. Rubio is 現実に the real 詐欺師 here," said U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, who is challenging U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson for the Democratic 指名/任命. "He said something to the 影響 of, 'Ten thousand times, I'm telling you I'm not going to run for the 上院 again.' 井戸/弁護士席 guess what? He's running for the 上院 again."

A 重要な question ぼんやり現れるs for 攻撃を受けやすい 共和国の/共和党の 上院議員s this 選挙 season: If Donald Trump loses and lo ses big, can they still 生き残る? Trump?s 拒絶する/低下するing standing in the 投票s has GOP 上院 候補者s 準備するing for the worst 11 weeks before 選挙 Day, and they?re 作戦行動ing now to put as big a 利ざや as they can between themselves and the 最高の,を越す of the ticket. But don't ask Rubio to reconcile supporting Trump with his past 批評.

"We've gone through that a million times," Rubio said at a (選挙などの)運動をする stop at a Tallahassee restaurant. "At this point we're just going to continue to 焦点(を合わせる) on my race and leave the past in the past."

Last month in パナマ City, Rubio said he is supporting Trump because he 誓約(する)d 早期に in the (選挙などの)運動をする to support the 共和国の/共和党の 指名された人.

"There are only two people in the world that are going to be 大統領,/社長 of the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs in 2017," Rubio said. "It will either be Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. And It can't be Hillary Clinton."

Leaving his 発言/述べるs in the past isn't something his 対抗者s are willing to do. 共和国の/共和党の developer Carlos Beruff often 非難するs Rubio for not enthusiastically supporting Trump, and Murphy and Grayson are calling him out for his hypocrisy.

Grayson 述べるd the 関係 between Trump and Rubio by 引用するing late New York Yankees 経営者/支配人 Billy ツバメ, who once said of late team owner George Steinbrenner and 星/主役にする outfielder Reggie Jackson: "The two of them deserve each other. One's a born liar and the other's 罪人/有罪を宣告するd." (Steinbrenner had pleaded 有罪の to making 違法な 出資/貢献s to 大統領 Richard Nixon's (選挙などの)運動をする.)

"That's sort of how I feel about watching the love/hate fest between Marco Rubio and Donald Trump," Grayson said .

Beruff, who has spent $8 million of his own money in the 共和国の/共和党の 最初の/主要な, has 繰り返して 非難するd Rubio for not doing more to support Trump.

"There are some people who don't like the tepid 返答 that Rubio has shown to Trump," Beruff said. "There's a 忠義 there."

Beruff's 成果/努力 doesn't appear to be working: He's far behind Rubio in the 投票s just a week away from the Aug. 30 最初の/主要な.

共和国の/共和党のs say it's a 事柄 of 許すing and forgetting, にもかかわらず Rubio making fun of Trump's small 手渡すs, 示唆するing the 億万長者 wet his pants during a 審議 and mocking his Twitter misspellings at a (選挙などの)運動をする 決起大会/結集させる.

Wearing a "Make America 広大な/多数の/重要な Again" baseball cap to show support for Trump, 共和国の/共和党の (頭が)ひょいと動く Bezick, 64, of Madison said after …に出席するing Rubio's Tallahassee event that he didn't 高く評価する/(相場などが)上がる the 支援する and 前へ/外へ between Rubio and Trump. But it won't stop him from 支援 Rubio.

"It's 政策s more than any of the chatter. All that stuff is just noise," Bezick said.

And にもかかわらず the not-so-cozy 関係 between Rubio and Trump, 共和国の/共和党のs say they won't 投票(する) for Murphy or Grayson.

"That would be an extreme example of cutting off your nose to spite your 直面する," said Orange 郡 共和国の/共和党の Party Chairman Lew Oliver .

If anything, Oliver said, keeping his distance from Trump could help Rubio with 独立した・無所属 投票者s or 民主党員s 不満な with their party's 指名された人.

"Tactically, that's not a bad 作戦行動 from his 視野 because he's probably going to get the 共和国の/共和党の 投票(する)s regardless," Oliver said .
