展示 charts 500 years of 進化 of robots
LONDON (AP) ― 奮起させるd by his belief that human 存在s are essentially terrified of robots, Ben Russell 始める，決める about charting the 進化 of automatons for an 展示 he hopes will 軍隊 people to think about how androids and other robotic forms can 高める their lives.
Robots, says Russell, have been with us for centuries ― as "Robots," his 展示（する） 開始 Wednesday at London's Science Museum, shows.
From a 15th century Spanish clockwork 修道士 who kisses his rosary and （警官の）巡回区域，受持ち区域s his breast in contrition, to a Japanese "childoid" newsreader, created in 2014 with lifelike facial 表現s, the 展示 跡をつけるs the 開発 of ロボット工学 and mankind's obsession with replicating itself.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's unstoppable Terminator cyborg is there, as is Robby the Robot, 星／主役にする of the 1956 film "Forbidden 惑星," 代表するing the horror and the fantasy of robots with minds of their own.
There are also examples of factory 生産／産物-line machines 非難するd for taking people's 職業s in 最近の １０年間s; a "telenoid communications android" for hugging during long-distance phone calls to 緩和する loneliness; and Kaspar, a "minimally expressive social robot" built like a small boy and designed to help 緩和する social interactions for children with autism.
"When you take a long 見解（をとる）, as we have done with 500 years of robots, robots 港／避難所't been these terrifying things, they've been magical, fascinating, useful, and they 一般に tend to do what we want them to do," said Russell, who 作品 at the science museum and was the lead curator of the 展示.
And while it's human nature to be worried in the 直面する of change, Russell said, the 展示（する） should help people "think about what we are as humans" and realize that if robots are "going to come along, you've got a 火刑／賭ける in how they develop."
A total of 100 robots are 始める，決める in five different historic periods in a show that 調査するs how 宗教, industrialization, pop culture and 見通しs of the 未来 have 形態／調整d soci ety.
For Rich Walker, managing director of 影をつくる／尾行する Robot Company in London, ロボット工学 is about what these ますます sophisticated machines can do for humans to make life easier, 特に for the 年輩の or the impaired.
"I'm 自然に lazy and got 伴う／関わるd so that I could get robots to do things for me," Walker said. His company has developed a robotic 手渡す that can replicate 24 of the 27 natural movements of the human 手渡す.
As humans have a 1 パーセント 失敗 率 at repetitive 仕事s, committing errors about once every two hours, the 手渡す could 取って代わる humans on 生産／産物 lines, he said.
Walker 譲歩するs その上の 腐食 of 確かな types of 職業s if 発明s such as his are successful, but says having repetitive 仕事s 成し遂げるd by automatons would 解放する／自由な up people to 可決する・採択する value-追加するd 役割s.
"The 問題／発行する is to 再構築する the economy so that it has a holistic approach to 雇用," he said.
This in turn leads to questions, raised at the 展示 同様に as by the European Union, of whether or not robots should 支払う／賃金 税金s on the value of their 生産（高） as part of the new 産業の 革命.
