FAMILY HISTORY INSPIRES RUNNERS
An Army sergeant and his wife are to run a half マラソン in 援助（する） of a 退役軍人s' charity that his family have supported since 1943.
Craig and Angela Barrington, from Bedford, will 参加する the 王室の Parks 創立／基礎 Half マラソン to raise money for Blind 退役軍人s UK.
They were 奮起させるd by Craig's grandmother Dorothy Collins. Dorothy, 87, has supported Blind 退役軍人s UK since her brother's 計画（する） was 発射 負かす／撃墜する in Nieheim in Germany during the Second World War.
Angela, 30, said: "As an Army wife with a husband recently 支援する from Afghanistan, I feel very 堅固に about the importance of 軍の charities. And as a nurse, I know first-手渡す how important and precious sight is.
"My husband's grandmother Dorothy supported Blind 退役軍人s UK since losing her brother in World War II. She felt 堅固に that she 手配中の，お尋ね者 to support a 軍の charity in memory of her brother and others who gave their lives for their country.
"This has 奮起させるd me and my husband to raise as much money as we can by running the 王室の Parks Half マラソン.
"Our two daughters will be 元気づける us on, and hopefully we'll be 奮起させるing the next 世代 to support this wonderful charity."
Blind 退役軍人s UK still has places 利用できる for the race, which takes place in London on October 12.
Events officer Victoria Marshall said: "We'd like to hear from anyone who is still hoping to get a place for the 王室の Parks 創立／基礎 Half マラソン - or anyone who has a 投票（する） place but hasn't yet chosen a charity."
