This makes a fantastic vegetarian lunch. If you don’t have the time to roast the peppers and make the onion marmalade, use shop-bought, but buy the best that you can. 許す the gal ette to 冷静な/正味の わずかに before slicing it and serving warm with salad.

Serves 6?

  • 2 red peppers, halved and deseeded
  • 1tbsp olive oil?
  • Salt and freshly ground 黒人/ボイコット pepper
  • A little plain flour, to dust
  • 320g packet of ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 2 x 150g tubs of soft goat’s cheese
  • 1tbsp fresh thyme leaves, 加える a few sprigs to garnish
  • 1 egg, beaten For the onion marmalade
  • 2tbsp olive oil
  • 3 large onions, sliced
  • 1tbsp caster sugar
  • 1tbsp balsamic vinegar

The galette can be made up to the point?where you bake it up to 8 hours ahead. Not suitable for 氷点の.

This recipe is perfect for making ahead and 平易な to 輸送(する) if making it for a street party or 祝賀 集会. Serve with baby new potatoes and dressed salad.?

MINI APPLE, APRICOT AND HAZELNUT CRUMBLES

These individual 崩壊するs are scrumptious and so 平易な to make. You could 平等に make one large 崩壊する ? use a 1.2 litre (2 pint) ovenproof dish and bake for 30 minutes. Serve with cream, cr?me fra?che or warm custard.?

Serves 6 (special 器具/備品 6 x size 1 ramekins?150ml/5fl oz)

  • 900g (2lb) Bramley apples, peeled and 削減(する) into 1cm (?in) cubes
  • 175g (6oz) ready-to-eat 乾燥した,日照りのd apricots, snipped into small pieces
  • 100ml (3?fl oz) apple juice?
  • 100g (3?oz) demerara sugar
  • 100g (3?oz) plain flour
  • 50g (1?oz) 冷淡な butter, cubed
  • 30g (1oz) hazelnuts, chopped

Put the apples, apricots, apple juice and all but 1 heaped tablespoon of the demerara sugar into a saucepan.

Bring to the boil, cover with a lid, and simmer for 5-7 minutes or until the apples are just soft.

Salmon fillets, cooked 簡単に and slowly, are complemented by a rich sauce of asparagus, cream and pesto. Don’t be tempted to pile the fillets on 最高の,を越す of each other to cook them ? bake in a 選び出す/独身 層 in separate roasting tins. Serve with baby new potatoes or, for a special occasion, Jersey 王室のs.

Serves 6?

  • 6 x 150g (5?oz) centre-削減(する) salmon fillets, skinned
  • Salt and freshly ground 黒人/ボイコット pepper
  • 12 asparagus spears
  • 300ml (10fl oz) 二塁打 cream
  • Juice of ? a lemon
  • 4tbsp pesto

Preheat the oven to 140°C/fan 120°C/gas 1. Line a roasting tin with a large piece of 失敗させる/負かす and arrange the salmon fillets on 最高の,を越す in a 選び出す/独身 層. Season with salt and freshly ground 黒人/ボイコット pepper, then scrunch the 味方するs of the 失敗させる/負かす at the 最高の,を越す so the fillets are enclosed.

Cook in the oven for 50 minutes or until the salmon is matt pink and just done. Don’t let it overcook or it will become 乾燥した,日照りの. 一方/合間, 削減する the woody ends from the asparagus spears and discard, then 削減(する) off 5cm (2in) from each tip and put to one 味方する.

Finely shred the stalks, cutting them diagonally into thin slices. Bring a pan of salted water to the boil, 追加する the asparagus tips and shredded stalks, then bring 支援する to the boil and cook for 3 minutes.

Drain, separate the tips from the stalks, and keep warm. Heat the cream, lemon juice and pesto in a pan until hot. 追加する the cooked shredded stalks and season with salt and freshly ground 黒人/ボイコット pepper.

To serve, arrange the hot salmon fillets on a serving plate. 注ぐ the sauce over and garnish each fillet with two asparagus tips. Serve any leftover sauce 分かれて?

GLAZED HAM WITH CUMBERLAND SAUCE?

Hot or 冷淡な, ham is irresistible and perfect for any buffet (米)棚上げする/(英)提議する. It 料金d twice the number when 冷淡な because it’s easier to slice thinly. When you’re buying the gammon, ask the butcher if it needs soaking to 除去する any 超過 saltiness. If you get it from supermarkets, it is usually presoaked, but always check the label.

Serves 6-12

For the Cumberland sauce?

This sauce is wonderfully rich and vibrantly coloured. To serve 6, use a potato peeler to 除去する thin (土地などの)細長い一片s of peel from an orange. 捨てる off any white pith, then 削減(する) into needle thin (土地などの)細長い一片s and place in a pan.

Cover with water, bring to the boil, and simmer over a low heat for 3-4 minutes or until soft. Drain, refresh in 冷淡な water, then 乾燥した,日照りの 井戸/弁護士席 with kitchen paper and 始める,決める aside. Put 340g redcurrant jelly from a jar and 75ml (2?fl oz) Port into a saucepan.

追加する the juice of the orange to the pan with 1tsp Dijon 情熱 and a dash of Worcestershire sauce. 素早い行動 over a high heat until the jelly has melted, then boil 速く for 4-5 minutes or until 減ずるd by half.

Season with salt and freshly ground 黒人/ボイコット pepper, 追加する the juice of ? a lemon to taste, then spoon into a serving dish and ぱらぱら雨 with the orange (土地などの)細長い一片s. Serve warm or 冷淡な. The sauce can be made up to 1 week ahead. To serve warm, reheat gently in a pan. Not suitable for 氷点の.?

Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C/gas 6. 一方/合間, put the redcurrant jelly and 情熱 into a bowl and 動かす until 連合させるd. 得点する/非難する/20 the 層 of fat on the ham in a lattice pattern with a knife, then spread the mixture over it.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the glaze has melted and started to caramelise. If serving hot, 残り/休憩(する) for 10 minutes before carving. If serving 冷淡な, 始める,決める aside until needed.??

PARTY PAVLOVA PYRAMID?

You don’t get successful meringues if you use more than six egg whites at a time, which is why we make them in two (製品,工事材料の)一回分s for this party pyramid. It is the most みごたえのある dessert you’ll ever make. To make a larger pyramid, 追加する another 層 as …に反対するd to making larger meringues.?

2 x 6 egg whites

2 x 350g (12oz) caster sugar

2 x 1tsp white ワイン vinegar

2 x 1tsp cornflour

For the filling

900g (2lb) strawberries, 船体d

750g (1lb 10oz) raspberries

450g (1lb) blueberries

Preheat the oven to 160°C/fan 140°C/ gas 3. To make the first (製品,工事材料の)一回分 of meringue, put six egg whites into a bowl and 素早い行動 with an electric 素早い行動 until they look like clouds. 追加する the sugar a little at a time, 素早い行動ing on 最大限 速度(を上げる) until the mixture is stiff and glossy. Mix the vinegar and cornflour in a cup until smooth, then 動かす into the bowl.

Line a baking sheet with baking parchment and spread the meringue mixture out ? it should be about 30cm (12in) in 直径 and about 5cm (2in) 厚い. This will be the base for the pyramid. Slide into the oven, then すぐに 減ずる the 気温 to 150°C/fan 130°C/gas 2 and bake for 1 hour. Turn the oven off and leave the meringue inside for 1 hour or 夜通し to 乾燥した,日照りの. 準備する a second (製品,工事材料の)一回分 of mixture.

Use to make one meringue 手段ing 25cm (10in) in 直径, another 手段ing 20cm (8in) in 直径, and a third that is 12cm (5in) in 直径. The smallest can be 公正に/かなり thin and should fit on a baking sheet with the 20cm (8in) one.

Cook in the same way: put the 25cm (10in) meringue in the oven and bake for 15 minutes, then pop the two smaller meringues in 同様に and bake for a その上の 45 minutes. Switch off the oven and leave to 乾燥した,日照りの out for 1 hour or 夜通し.

To 組み立てる/集結する, whip the cream until stiff and mix with the yoghurt. Put the largest meringue on a sturdy 失敗させる/負かす-covered board or tray. Cover with cream and half the fruit, 確実にするing the fruit can be seen at the 辛勝する/優位s.

FILLET OF BEEF WITH BEETROOT AND HORSERADISH DRESSING

When you’re serving numbers at a smart dinner party, it’s always a good feeling to know the first course is made and waiting in the fridge. This recipe is perfect for that. When you carve the fillet, you want the slices to be long and thin rather than 一連の会議、交渉/完成する ? middle-削減(する) fillets give you the 訂正する 形態/調整. Serve with brown bread rolls.?

Serves 6

  • 300g (10?oz) middle-削減(する) fillet steak, trimmed
  • 1tbsp olive oil, 加える a little extra to serve l Salt and freshly ground 黒人/ボイコット pepper
  • 4 medium-sized cooked beetroot, thinly sliced
  • 50g (1?oz) ロケット/急騰する
  • 50g (1?oz) piece of Parmesan cheese For the horseradish dressing
  • 2tbsp creamed horseradish sauce l 3tbsp light mayonnaise
  • 2tbsp lemon juice

Rub the steak with the oil and season with salt and freshly ground 黒人/ボイコット pepper. Heat a frying pan until very hot, then fry the fillet for 2? minutes on each 味方する. This will give you a rare steak. If you prefer medium, cook for another minute on each 味方する. 除去する from the pan and leave to 冷静な/正味の.

To make the dressing, put the 成分s into a small bowl and 素早い行動 with a 手渡す 素早い行動 until smooth and 連合させるd. Season with salt and freshly ground 黒人/ボイコット pepper.

When the steak is 冷淡な, carve it into very thin slices ? you’re 目的(とする)ing to get 30 slices per fillet. Arrange five thin slices in a 星/主役にする 形態/調整 on each plate. Arrange five slices of beetroot in the middle of the plate in a spiral 形態/調整, then 霧雨 with the horseradish dressing.

Gather together a little bundle of ロケット/急騰する leaves for each plate and place on 最高の,を越す of the beetroot. Using a potato peeler, shave little shavings of Parmesan over the 最高の,を越す. 霧雨 with a little olive oil and serve straight away.
