The surgical strike, which came in response to Iran's launching of some 320 missiles and drones on targets in Israel on April 13, is believed to have damaged the radar systems of an air defense battery at an airbase near the central city of Isfahan.?Initial reports of the strike were murky, with neither side willing to share details of what had transpired.

'However, this cannot now truly be a return to business as usual and I would suggest that honor is far from satisfied on both sides at the moment.' While he said the Israeli strikes 'may give the illusion that we have threaded the needle on the crisis,' Crump stressed that 'the baseline level of alert across the region is now going to be escalated for an extended period'.
