The former BBC 生産者 who 始める,決める up Prince Andrew's Newsnight interview says she thinks he agreed to do it because he was 'surrounded by people telling him he was amazing'.

Sam McAlister says the Duke of York had 'never been knocked 支援する' and 'never had an 評価' in the lead up to the now 悪名高い piece of television, something that counted against him.

The Duke of York had been 直面するd by presenter Emily Maitlis about his links to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, with the prince 存在 ridiculed in the マスコミ and online for his answers to some of her questions.

Speaking ahead of the 解放(する) of Scoop, a new Netflix 演劇 about the interview in which she is portrayed by Billie Piper, Ms McAlister said while Andrew was 'eminently noticeable', the then 59-year-old had a 'real misperception of his abilities'.

The film, which will be 解放(する)d on April 5, dramatises the behind the scenes 活動/戦闘 in the build up to the interview, 同様に as fallout from the hour of television that essentially put an end to Andrew's time as a working member of the 王室の Family.

Speaking to The 後見人, Ms McAlister said the prince - who turned up to the interview with Princess Beatrice for company - genuinely felt it had gone 井戸/弁護士席 after it finished.

She said she felt things might have gone 異なって if Andrew had more people 持つ/拘留するing him accountable.

'He cocked it up to the degree that he did for a very simple 推論する/理由, one that's 令状 large in lots of powerful people in lots of powerful organisations,' she told the paper.

'At the 最高の,を越す, you're surrounded by people telling you that you're amazing, and this is a very extreme example of that.?

'He was 59.?He'd never had a normal 職業. He'd never had an 評価. He'd never been knocked 支援する.

'My feeling was that through an 事故 of his birth he had a real misperception of his abilities.'

Opposite Sewell in the 議長,司会を務める will be Gillian Anderson, who portrays BBC presenter Emily Maitlis, while Keeley Hawes plays Andrew's former 私的な 長官 Amanda Thirsk.

Ms McAlister herself is 存在 portrayed by Billie Piper, who felt her character was an 'unsung hero' in the very public fallout of the interview.

Piper also said her experience of fame gave her an insight into how Andrew's mindset, as when you are a public 人物/姿/数字 people are 'either 不均衡な horrible, or 不均衡な 肉親,親類d'.?

Ms McAllister 以前 appeared on This Morning to discuss her experience working on both the interview and the film.

'Why would you go and take that 危険, 権利?

'So my 職業 was 説得するing people to go on against their 利益/興味 基本的に. So I spent my time trying to get them to do something they probably shouldn't have done.'

Discussing how she felt when 安全な・保証するing the interview, she 明らかにする/漏らすd: 'I'd been 取引,協定ing with a palace for a year. And I think the thing that I love about this movie...is I'm an ordinary woman who ended up in an 驚くべき/特命の/臨時の 状況/情勢. And of course, everyone's seen that interview. She continued: 'So it all started a year 事前の, and it was only on the Monday so we're now 13 months in the Monday when I met Prince Andrew 直面する to 直面する with Emily and Stuart with with his daughter sitting next to him in Buckingham Palace...It was only then on the one day I thought this could 現実に happen.

'And on Tuesday morning, they said yes. And I honestly I dropped my phone. I could not believe that they had said yes.'

'Can you imagine you've gone to talk to a Prince and you're in Buckingham Palace... and you're talking about difficult 支配するs and then he brings his daughter?' she said?

'I mean, it was the curveball of curveballs. I'm not easily disconcerted, but I have to 収容する/認める, even I was impressed by that as a curveball,' she 追加するd.
