Harry and Meghan's TV empire: How Sussexes bought the ¡ò3m film ¸¢Íøs to romantic novel ²ñ¹ç¡¤²ñ¤¦ Me At The Lake - before new Netflix series on polo and cooking

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ³ÈÂ礹¤ëd their TV empire this week by ȯɽ¤¹¤ëing two new Èó¡¤ÉÔ¡¤Ìµ-fiction Netflix shows - on ºÇ¹â¤Î¡¤¤ò±Û¤¹ of a ¤«¤«¤ï¤ê¹ç¤¤ to a ¡ò3m film adaptation of a romantic novel.

The new series, which is part of the couple's ¸½ºß¿Ê¹ÔÃæ¤Î ¡ò80m ¤ò¼è¤ê°ú¤¤¹¤ë Netflix, will see the Duke of Sussex delve into the world of professional polo, a sport that he has played since he was a child.

°ìÊý¡¿¹ç´Ö the Duchess?will ¾ÇÅÀ¡Ê¤ò¹ç¤ï¤»¤ë¡Ë on lifestyle-centric topics like gardening and cooking in a move that will likely µö¤¹ her to cross-Â¥¿Ê¤¹¤ë her new brand American Riviera Orchard.

An ¹ð¼¨ on the Archewell website earlier this week said Harry's show will cover?the US Open Polo Áª¼ê¸¢ in Wellington, Florida, and?'¶¡µë¤¹¤ë ¥Æ¥ì¥Ó»ëÄ°¼Ôs with Á°Îã¤Î¤Ê¤¤ Àܶá to the world of professional polo'.

But it comes ¤¤¤Ã¤½¤¦¾¯¤Ê¤¯ than a year after the couple ÌÀ¤é¤«¤Ë¤¹¤ë¡¿Ï³¤é¤¹d ·×²è¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ës to produce a film adaptation of Carley Fortune's ²ñ¹ç¡¤²ñ¤¦ Me At The Lake, which echoes their personal story and ´Þ¤às a character whose parent dies in a car ¾×ÆÍ¡¤ÄÆÍî.

Sources °ÊÁ° ½Ò¤Ù¤ëd the Ä´½ñ¤ò¤È¤ë¡¿Í½Ì󤹤ë as '¸¢Íø up their alley' because they 'love love stories and rom-coms'.?

The Sussexes famously ¼êÇÛÃæ¤Î¡¤¤ª¿Ò¤Í¼Ô to tell their own 'love story' in their bombshell 2022 Netflix ʸ½ñ¤Î 'Harry & Meghan.'

But ²¦¼¼¤Î ÀìÌç²È Phil Dampier told MailOnline the couple should '¾ÇÅÀ¡Ê¤ò¹ç¤ï¤»¤ë¡Ë on one thing' having committed to a °ìÏ¢¤Î »ö¶È¡¿·×²è¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ës.?

He said:?'I'm all in favour of them doing things that aren't making money out of slagging off the ²¦¼¼¤Î family or criticising the ²¦¼¼¤Î family.?

'So that's a good Ä´°õ¤¹¤ë. That's a step in the ¸¢Íø direction but they seem to be a bit º®Í𤵤»¤ëd at the moment, trying to maybe do too many things and I'm not sure that there's any ÊÝ¾Ú¡Ê¿Í¡Ë that any of them will work.?

'They might be better to ¾ÇÅÀ¡Ê¤ò¹ç¤ï¤»¤ë¡Ë on one thing and try and get it off the ground.

'I think they're desperate for money and they don't want to lose their Netflix ·ÀÌós because that has been a money spinner for them.?

'If they lost that ´°Á´¤Ë, then they've got all their Ë¡°Æs to »Ùʧ¤¦¡¿Ä¶⠡¼¤Ë´Ø¤·¤Æ¡¿¡¼¤ÎÅÀ¤Çs of °ÂÁ´, and a luxurious house and first class travel everywhere so they need to »Ùʧ¤¦¡¿Ä¶â the Ë¡°Æs, they need to get some money, and they've probably exhausted the money they can make out of criticising the ²¦¼¼¤Î family.'

It was ¤Þ¤ºÂè°ì¤Ë¡¿ËÜÍè ȯ¼Í during the U.S. Open Polo Áª¼ê¸¢ in Wellington, Florida, at The USPA ¹ñ²È¤Î Polo Ãæ¿´.

The show will go behind the scenes of the sport, Ä´ºº¤¹¤ëing what it takes to compete at the highest level.

It is a topic that Harry is ¶Ëü¤Ë °æ¸Í¡¿ÊÛ¸î»ÎÀÊ »í¡Ê¤òºî¤ë¡Ëd in, having been playing the sport since he was a child - with both his father King Charles and his brother Prince William also known to be ²ñ¼Ò¡¿·ø¤¤ fans of the game.

But Dampier does not believe that the new series could turn the tide on Harry and Meghan's dwindling ¿Íµ¤ in the US.

'Certainly their ¿Íµ¤ in America has now gone É餫¤¹¡¿·âÄƤ¹¤ë because they've overdone [criticising the ²¦¼¼¤Î Family] and so they've got to find fresh avenues,' he said.?

'At the moment they're trying several different things but how many of them will be successful is debatable.?

'The reaction of ¤ä¤á¤ë a few people on social ¥Þ¥¹¥³¥ß yesterday was sort of one big yawn.?

'I'm not sure that that many are Íø±×¡¿¶½Ì£d in what Harry has to say about polo. It's a ¸øÀµ¤Ë¡¿¤«¤Ê¤ê ¥¨¥ê¡¼¥È sport.?

'He's played a lot of polo but that doesn't ¤ä¤à¤òÆÀ¤º make him an ÀìÌç²È on telling other people how to play and most people can't afford to play it. So it's a very niche market.?

'And is Megan a ÆÃ¤Ë good cook or chef, or ÀìÌç²È on food? Only time will tell.

'Megan did a cookbook with the Grenfell Tower À¸Â¸¼Ôs and that was thought to be very altruistic and a good thing that was raising money for charity but ¤ä¤á¤ë what »ñ³Ês she's got for a more serious cooking program, I don't know.?

'But I would have thought having ³«»Ï¤¹¤ë¡¤ÂǤÁ¾å¤²¤ëd the American Orchard, she' d be concentrating on that more.

'ÌÀÇò¤Ë they are trying to bring in as many different »ö¶È¡¿·×²è¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ës to get as much money in as they can.'?
