We know that Ricky Gervais can take the mickey out of himself, but this is the show that 証明するs plenty of other 星／主役にするs were willing to do the same. Gervais sits on the sidelines, やめる literally, his character an extra who will, to his constant 失望, never steal the limelight. As Andy Millman, Gervais is joined by Ashley Jensen as his loyal friend Maggie, and together they make a 甘い team as Andy 努力する／競うs to get more camera time and Maggie looks for love.?
The big draw, though, is the big 星／主役にするs. Each episode has a guest or guests and there are some real surprises in st 鉱石: Ben Stiller getting serious directing a biographical war picture, Kate Winslet turning the 空気／公表する blue while dressed as a 修道女, Ross Kemp in a period 演劇 and Samuel L Jackson not 存在 in The Matrix. There's also an 特に memorable episode with David Bowie, who sings Andy a いっそう少なく-than-flattering song 肩書を与えるd Little Fat Man. Neatly, Winslet jokes in the show that she'll 勝利，勝つ an Oscar if she does a film about the 大破壊／大虐殺 - and she did just that in 2009, with The Reader. (Two series and a Christmas special)
