The first movie to earn $100 million, Steven Spielberg's fifth feature-length 生産／産物 is credited with creating the intensively marketed, all-征服する／打ち勝つing summer blockbuster. Starring Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss, its very simple 前提 takes an idyllic summer beach 訴える手段／行楽地 and transforms it into a feeding ground for a very big, very hungry shark - and Spielberg uses every technical and 劇の trick going to keep his audience on their toes.
What is remarkable is that while テレビ視聴者s 報告（する）／憶測 feeling 脅すd, uneasy and perhaps even exhilarated, these feelings are 生成するd not by visceral scenes of shocking, teeth-chomping horror - in fact, this only happens the once - but by a raft of visual and 音声部の cues that are calculated to 生成する nail-biting 緊張. From unnatural, 予期しない movements on the water, to ばく然と discernible hulking 影をつくる／尾行するs beneath the surface, everything you see (or don't see) is designed to unsettle and, crucially, is 支援するd up by 冷気／寒がらせるing sound 影響s - and that Oscar-winning 得点する／非難する／２０ by John Williams.
Jaws isn't the only 殺し屋 to have his own 主題 tune. Psycho's 殺害者, Norman Bates, had Bernard Herrmann's screeching violins, Michael Myers from Halloween had those staccato piano 公式文書，認めるs. In Jaws, the simple, repeated, two-公式文書，認める 主題 is one of the most memorable pieces of movie music of all time, and 供給するs a reliable cue for the presence of the film's 'eating machine'. Many years on, it still has the 力／強力にする to get you out of the water.
Filming the scenes with the shark was an almighty challenge - not least because Bruce, the mechanical beast, kept breaking 負かす／撃墜する. Getting the musical 代表 of the monster 権利 was much easier. At first, Spielberg was not 納得させるd when Williams played him those two 公式文書，認めるs on the piano - 報道によれば 説, 'Are you kidding?'.
