Let's hear it for Princess Anne, the 勇敢に立ち向かう, plain-talking workaholic who 持つ／拘留するs the 君主国 together. (But DO remember that 'Ma'am' rhymes with 'jam' and DON'T get too familiar...)

The Princess 王室の has topped the league （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する for 王室の 義務s for many years so it comes as no surprise that she's started this year at 十分な 速度(を上げる）. 

The variety matches the 量. 範囲ing from 存在 大統領 of the Save the Children 基金 to a 役割 as 海軍大将 of the Sea Cadet 軍団, nothing seems to ruffle her.

At the start of the year she, …を伴ってd by her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, Anne visited Sri Lanka where, の中で her many 義務s she met the 大統領.

Then it was 支援する home to Gatcombe for a training day before leaving for Rosyth in Scotland to watch a new 海軍の フリゲート艦, HMS Venturer, 存在 built.

From a Big Curry Lunch as an 名誉として与えられる Freeman of the City of London to a 連邦／共和国 dinner at Buckingham Palace - followed by another dinner for the Special Boat Services 協会 at Windsor 城 - it never stops.

And we are still only at the start of the year, with dozens more such 任命s lined up.

Anne, the Princess 王室の is unique. 

She remains the most enigmatic member of the 王室の Family, an aloof and seemingly unemotional woman who has never 許すd the ermine cloak of 王族 to 落ちる and expose her real hopes, 恐れるs and ambitions. 

She has a 破滅的な wit, a total 無視（する） for the 是認 of others, and as a former European Three-Day-Event 支持する／優勝者, which she became in 1971 at her first 試みる／企てる, her physical courage has never been in 疑問.

Princess Anne knows 正確に／まさに who and what she is. Very few men or women are permitted to call her by her Christian 指名する. 

It is always Your 王室の Highness at first, thereafter, Ma’am ? to rhyme with jam not anything else. 

Anne 生き残るd a 誘拐する 試みる／企てる by a 銃器携帯者／殺しや who 発射 her 護衛 five times; the スキャンダル of 存在 the first ? and only ? daughter of a 統治するing 君主 to be 離婚d and remarried (to a former servant of her mother), and seen the marriages of two of her brothers, Charles and Andrew, break up in bizarre circumstances. 

She has seen both her 甥s, William and Harry, marry and have children. 

And seen Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, 砂漠 the 王室の Family for the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs, to become ‘独立した・無所属.’

Not that you will ever hear a word of 批評 about any of them from her lips.

When she married her first husband, 示す Phillips, in Westminster Abbey in 1973, she was the 君主’s first child to be 結婚する in a live テレビ放送するd 儀式. 

The wedding to husband number two, Tim Laurence, whom she met when he was serving as a ‘Season Officer’ on board the 王室の ヨット, Britannia, was a low 重要な 儀式 held at Crathie Parish Church 近づく Balmoral in Scotland, because of the 障害s she would have 遭遇（する）d, as a 離婚d woman, marrying in church in England. 

And even in Scotland there were difficulties, as Anne did not give the 要求するd fifteen days notice for the wedding. So technically she broke the 法律.

Beginning at the age of 18, when she 現在のd 象徴的な Leek emblems to the Welsh Guards on St David’s Day, 1970, Anne has continued to 追求する her 王室の 義務s with unflagging energy and dedication.

Today, 井戸／弁護士席 over seventy, there is little 調印する of her slowing 負かす／撃墜する. 

She never stops, carrying out up to five different 約束／交戦s in a day, some of which are stultifyingly boring. 

Though when I について言及するd this 面 of her work to her, Anne's reply was a masterpiece in classic, 外交の understatement.

She 単に 認める that: 'Some are perhaps いっそう少なく 利益／興味ing than the others.'

A workaholic, she hates having a day off. As she told me, ‘I do not like sitting around doing nothing…I try to fill the time.’

In carrying out these 義務s, she has occasionally been 要求するd to show a 厚い 肌 ? and keep a straight 直面する at some of the 発言／述べるs she has to listen to. 

I was 現在の in Houston, Texas, at a special dinner, where she was guest of honour and the host stood up to welcome her. He opened his speech by asking the Princess …'To congratulate your mother on 存在 re-elected.' 

She didn’t bat an eyelid.

The years have not been hard on Anne. She doesn’t 要求する the services of a personal trainer to keep her stomach hard and flat, or a hairdresser in constant 出席 to keep every 立ち往生させる in place. 

Neither do her 手渡すs show any 証拠 of a 週刊誌 visit from a manicurist.

 She has beautiful 注目する，もくろむs, a 罰金 complexion and she still wears the same size 10 着せる／賦与するs she wore 20 years ago. She （人命などを）奪う，主張するs that many of her outfits are, indeed, that old.

As the centuries-old 王室の traditions of secret 議定書s, 古代の grievances and stifling class distinctions are discarded there is not one wor d of 批評 from the woman who was second-in-line to the 王位 when her mother became Queen Elizabeth 11 in 1952. 

Today, Anne languishes so far out of sight - as her brothers, nieces and 甥s all に先行する her - that she does not even have to 捜し出す the 許可 of the 君主 to marry ? or 離婚. 

It now 適用するs only to the first six. Harry just makes it ? for the moment.

Of course, many of the racial, 宗教的な and 民族の 障壁s that surrounded the 王室の Family for 世代s, have 宙返り／暴落するd. 

They had to ーするために bring new 血 and vitality into the House of Windsor. 

The days when 王族 married 王族 have long gone never to return. It’s hard to believe now that in 1960, when Princes Margaret married Antony Armstrong-Jones, (later Lord Snowdon) her aunt, Princess Marina, the 未亡人 of the Duke of Kent, was horrified, exclaiming: 'How strange to be marrying a 支配する'.

A 自然に 怪しげな woman who does not take easily to strangers, Anne has a の近くに circle of friends, most of whom have known her all her life. 

To them she is approachable and loyal, so long as 非，不，無 is foolish enough to 混乱させる friendship with familiarity.

 If one oversteps the 示す, the curtain of 王室の 不賛成 descends with 冷気／寒がらせるing finality. 

She may not be a tactile person, yet as a young woman she had the 評判 of 存在 a sexy little number, with several boyfriends, 含むing Andrew Parker Bowles, the former husband of Camilla, now our Queen. He has remained one of her  confidants.

Anne believes passionately in the 君主国 and gets 極端に angry if it is ridiculed and called outdated. Her 見解（をとる） is that it is, and can continue to be, a 力／強力にする for the good of the country - but only if it moves 今後.

It is rare for her to lose her temper. The only way one can tell if she is furious, in fact, is when her jaw muscles 強化する and her 発言する／表明する becomes a little shrill.

She is not 利益／興味d in personal 人気 and, like her father, the late Duke of Edinburgh, she believes it is not necessary to be liked to be 尊敬（する）・点d, or to become emotional to show compassion.

After a visit to a leper （軍の）野営地，陣営, wh ere she didn’t flinch from the most horrific sights, I asked her how it had 影響する／感情d her. 

She replied, ‘I have to be 現実主義の. If every 事例／患者 were 扱う／治療するd 本人自身で I would go nuts. You have to be remote, さもなければ you would 割れ目 up.’

Her 負かす／撃墜する-to-earth, no-nonsense approach to her 役割 as 大統領 (now Patron) of the Save the Children 基金, the organisation with which she is most closely identified, 隠すs a natural and inbred haughtiness.

Yet no one could 告発する／非難する her of the petty vindictiveness or 予測できない behaviour shown at times by her siblings.

She is 完全に 一貫した, and as one of her personal 保護 officers said, ‘At least you always know where you are with her.’

Her 関係 with her parents never wavered. It was a 相互の 賞賛 society, based on 信用, love and 尊敬（する）・点. 

Neither could do any wrong in the others’ 注目する，もくろむs. I once asked her if she regarded her late mother as Queen first or mother. She said, 'Remember she has been my mother longer than she has been Queen, so that’s how I regard her.'

Anne’s children, Peter and Zara, both born without a 肩書を与える between them, in spite of the 嘆願s of their 王室の grandmother to be 許すd to make them at least ‘Lord’ and ‘Lady’ have fully 正当化するd Anne’s 決定／判定勝ち（する）. 

They are sensible, 井戸／弁護士席-adjusted adults living comparatively normal lives, with Zara a World 支持する／優勝者 equestrian in her own 権利. 

When she married the former England rugby international, マイク Tindall, Anne welcomed her new son-in-法律 into the family ? and so did the late Queen. Peter Phillips’ marriage to the Canadian Autumn Kelly, ended when they 離婚d in June 2021. 

Princess Anne made no public comment, thoug h she must have been 個人として disappointed.

Peter and Zara take in their stride the fact that one of their first cousins, Prince William, will one day be their King.

The Princess 王室の is a loving, if undemonstrative, mother and Grandmother who once （人命などを）奪う，主張するd she did not 所有する a natural maternal instinct.

However, she has certainly since 論証するd her pride in her children and grandchildren; their 相互の affection is plain to see when they are together.

And, after more than 50 years of flawless public service, Anne has become 定評のある as the most 尊敬（する）・点d and admired member of the 王室の Family today. 

For a while, she was thought to be the 半端物 one out - as she put it: 'I’ve always been a tail-end Charlie.' 

Today she is seen as perhaps the woman who is helping to 供給する the 君主国 with the strength and 安定 it needs to see it 安全に into the 未来.

Or, as Prince Philip is said to have once 発言／述べるd, she is the son he wishes he had.
