Is WETHERSPOONS the answer to the 広大な／多数の／重要な British staycation problem? Costs of holidaying at home are spiralling but the 予算 boozer could come to you 救助（する） this summer

Going on holiday in the UK used to be a cheap 選択 but the cost of living 危機, 連合した to rising インフレーション and the irritating 傾向 of 予算 brands thinking they can 減少（する） the '予算' is running the 危険 of making them unaffordable for many families. 

によれば Which, the 普通の／平均（する） cost of a week's stay in the Cotswolds and Hampshire is just under £1000 for a typical family. 

The 消費者 巨大（な） also compared prices at the UK's 最高の，を越す hotel chains, and 設立する that the 普通の／平均（する） nights stay at old cheap familiars like 首相 Inn (£93) and Travelodge (£79) are now on the pricier 味方する too. 

Perhaps as a 返答 to this sudden price 引き上げ（る）, a new and ありそうもない player in the 予算 holiday scene has come into play in the form of Wetherspoons. 

Tim ツバメ's pub chain now has 56 hotels across the UK 位置を示すd in some of the country's prettiest and most scenic 位置／汚点／見つけ出すs. 

In line with the hotels cheap and cheerful brand, the hotels are modestly 定価つきの with a night coming in as low as £54 in some places. 

But can the UK's favourite (and let's 直面する it rowdiest)  pub chain ever be considered a serious 選択 for young families and holidaymakers? 

To put it to the 実験（する）, MailOnline visited two Wetherspoons holiday 目的地s to run the 支配する over their プロの／賛成のs and 反対／詐欺s. 

The Five 石／投石するs - 港／避難所 Primrose Valley Holiday Park 

£229 (Four guests, three nights)

It's a 冷淡な but sunny day at the 港／避難所 Holiday Park in Primrose Valley when I step out of my 率直に outrageously expensive taxi. 

The 勝利，勝つd is whipping through the park, 原因（となる）ing caravans to sway and in the playground, children are busying themselves with play and noxious 叫び声をあげるing. 

On the beach below, I can 選ぶ out throngs of 哀れな walkers on their trudges. Each group 猛烈に trying to 納得させる one another they're having a pleasant time. 

All in all, It's about as British as a holiday can be. 

At the centre of this grey metropolis stands the park's newest and boldest attraction, a shiny freshly opened Wetherspoons. 

The Five 石／投石するs pulled its first pint in March and is operated by 港／避難所 themselves but is to all 意図s and 目的s a proper Spoons - albeit with two 重要な exceptions. 

The first is that the famously low prices for which the brand is loved don't seem to 適用する here. 

Whilst browsing the menu, I 設立する myself shocked by the price of the combo meals with the cost of a pint and a gourmet burger (the word gourmet here loosely translating to a 'burger you'd 現実に want to eat') coming in at £15.40.

Things were even worse in the chargrilled chicken section, where half-a-bird and a Guinness will leave you £16.34 to the poorer - that is more expensive than Nandos!

Still, にもかかわらず their high prices, the Spoons i s still かなり cheaper than casual 引き裂く-off chain わずかな／ほっそりした Chickens who staggeringly also had a restaurant at the park. 

The second and perhaps most egregious difference between this and your 普通の／平均（する） Spoons is the number of children inside the pub. 

Yes, this is a holiday park. Yes, it's 明確に orientated for families. Yes, children need to eat too - but my god they're loud. 

There I am, trying to enjoy my third pint of £1.95 Ruddles before 12pm in my little corner (as is my 権利) and 粉々にするing my mood of sombre self-reflection (self-loathing) are three awful children playing hide and 捜し出す. 

Spoons are always noisy places 認めるd, but there's a difference in decibels between a sozzled 女／おっせかい屋 party from 物陰／風下d and just one precocious seven-year-old telling his entire family about dinosaurs. 

I sank the Ruddles and left. It's probably a life raft for the parents stuck on the campsite, but it's not for me. 

The 海軍大将 of the Humber - 船体

£135 (Four guests, three nights) 

My next stop was the 海軍大将 Humber Wetherspoons hotel in your friend, and 地雷, 船体. 

The 予算 nightspot 申し込む／申し出s a 二塁打 bedroom flat 率 of £54 which 作品 out at £27 per person per night cheaper than the 地元の Travelodge and most Airbnb 選択s I could find. 

For a f amily of four, this comes to just £135 - which is a steal in anyone's colouring 調書をとる／予約する.  

The pub is 位置を示すd in the centre of the city, just a 石／投石する's throw from classic attractions like the River Humber and that sunken 水槽 they've put in the River Humber. 

にもかかわらず it 存在 just after 2pm, the pub is already busy and bustling with a heady mixture of football fans, tourists and day drinkers. 

I moved through the throng and approached the hotel 歓迎会 where the excited concierge asked me if it was my first time staying at a Wetherspoons. 

Tragically it was and so I was 軍隊d to 収容する／認める I was a Spoons virgin. 

'Not a problem, everyone is once' he said with a smile as he led me to my modest room on the third 床に打ち倒す. 

My first impressions of the room were 比較して pleasant. The bed looked clean and the desk area had its own kettle and 準備／条項s. 

The bathroom was shiny and modern and the window had a pleasant panoramic 見解（をとる） of the beer garden and building 場所／位置 below. 

All this for £54 - who's a canny boy? I thought loudly and proudly. 

After lying on the bed for a few minutes and laughing at all those clowns in their Airbnb's, I 投機・賭けるd downstairs to sup a while with the 正規の／正選手s. 

Unlike other hotels which come 完全にする with depressing ロビー 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業s, my hotel opens up into a packed pub filled with 地元のs and tourists who 高く評価する／（相場などが）上がる a cheap drink and 料金d. 

I get chatting to one man, whose 指名する I can't remember, and begin to brag and bray about my fortuitous Wetherspoon find.

'Yeah, it's 基本的に £27 per person per night when you 深い it' I chuckle, 'and the room isn't that bad! It's not five 星／主役にする, but it's better than a Travelodge! Would you ever stay here?' 

My companion, by now 怪しげな that I work for Wetherspoons (I don't, I'm just a 大規模な fan) is more salient in his 見解（をとる） and proffers that as people age, the prospect of a night above a pub is いっそう少なく galling to them. 

He 発言／述べるs: 'I think that people wouldn't やむを得ず think it was an 選択. When I was in my 中央の 20s I loved designer brands. 

'These days I shop in Primark. It's one of those. In most of these 目的地s where they have hotels, people wouldn't even know.' 

Moving 支援する に向かって the 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業, I 会合，会う Verona Coggon, who herself is no stranger to the virtues of a Spoons city break. 

She （人命などを）奪う，主張するs: 'My brother 断言するs by them. He says the rooms are nice and he can always get something to eat and drink. 

'He will look for them whenever he travels now.' 

He sounds like a man 価値（がある） 会合! As the football fans drift out to the match, I too take a jaunt around the city, 捜し出すing out other hotels and accommodation 選択s to sneer at. 

I loiter outside a Travelodge for a while and catch 注目する，もくろむs with a couple in the hotel 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業. 

Knowing they can't hear me, I begin to 猛烈に mime that によれば Which? the 普通の／平均（する） price of their stay will be £79 which isn't good value for money in this economy. But to no avail. 

Taking my leave from the dark street before I'm 報告（する）／憶測d, I begin my slow slope 支援する to the hotel (and it is a hotel) where I pass an enjoyable evening in a child-解放する／自由な pub lost in my wretched thoughts. 

And yes, although I ended up 行方不明の my train the next morning, as staycations go, I can't think of many better (or cheaper).
