Sarah Ferguson thanked a fan for their '心にいだくd' support in a heartwarming 手渡す-written 公式文書，認める - after receiving a letter from a fan に引き続いて her 癌 diagnosis.

What is malignant melanoma??

Malignant melanoma is a serious form of 肌 癌 that begins in melanocytes, 独房s 設立する in the upper 層 of 肌 that produce melanin, which gives 肌 its colour.

While いっそう少なく ありふれた that other types of 肌 癌, it is more dangerous because of its ability to spread to other 組織／臓器s more 速く if it is not 扱う／治療するd at an 早期に 行う／開催する／段階.

Symptoms

A new mole or a change in an 存在するing mole may be 調印するs of melanoma.

Melanomas can appear anywhere on your 団体／死体, but they're more ありふれた in areas that are often exposed to the sun.

Some rarer types can 影響する／感情 the 注目する，もくろむs, 単独のs of the feet, palms of the 手渡すs or genitals.

Check your 肌 for any unusual changes. Use a mirror or ask a partner or friend to check any areas you cannot see.

In particular, look for:?

  • Moles with an uneven 形態／調整 or 辛勝する／優位s?
  • Moles with a mix of colours?
  • Large moles - melanomas often tend to be more than 6mm wide?
  • Moles that change size, 形態／調整 or colour over time

原因（となる）s

紫外 (UV) light is the most ありふれた 原因（となる） of melanoma. It comes from the sun and is used in sunbeds.

Melanoma is more ありふれた in older people, but younger people can also get it.

You're also more likely to get melanoma if you have:

  • Pale 肌 that 燃やすs easily in the sun?
  • Red or blonde hair?
  • Blue or green 注目する，もくろむs?
  • A?large number of freckles or moles?
  • Had a lot of sun （危険などに）さらす and you've had sunburn a lot in the past?
  • Used sunbeds a lot?
  • A?history of 肌 癌 in your family or you've had 肌 癌 before

If you have 黒人／ボイコット or brown 肌, you have a lower chance of getting melanoma, but you can still get it.?

?予防

Staying 安全な in the sun is the best way to lower your chance of getting 肌 癌 (both melanoma and 非，不，無-melanoma).?

Do the に引き続いて:

  • Stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day (11am to 3pm in the UK)

外科 could 伴う／関わる 除去するing the melanoma and an area of healthy 肌 around it, swollen lymph nodes if the 癌 has spread to them and other parts of the 団体／死体 if it has spread to them.

If a large part of 肌 has to be 除去するd, a 肌 汚職，収賄 might be needed which could see 肉親，親類 taken from another part of the 団体／死体 to cover the area where the melanoma was.

Radiotherpay is いつかs used to 減ずる the size of large melanomas and help 支配（する）／統制する and relieve symptoms.

的d 薬／医学s and immotherapy are used to 扱う／治療する melanomas that can't be dealt with by 外科, or have spread to lymph （分泌する為の）腺s or other parts of the 団体／死体.

Chemotherapy, which kills 癌 独房s, is いつかs used to 扱う／治療する 前進するd melanoma when it has spread to another part of the 団体／死体. It does not work 同様に as other 治療s, but can be used if you are unable to have them.

How dangerous is it?

一般に for people with melanoma in England:

  • almost all people (almost 100%) will 生き残る their melanoma for 1 year or more after they are 診断するd
  • around 90 out of every 100 people (around 90%) will 生き残る their melanoma for 5 years or more after diagnosis
  • more than 85 out of every 100 people (more than 85%) will 生き残る their melanoma for 10 years or more after they are 診断するd
