Hedgehog with 'balloon syndrome' that blew up to the size of a football is saved by 救助者s after she was spotted from a bus

A hedgehog that blew up to the size of a football has been saved by 救助者s after she was spotted from a bus in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire.

The hedgehog, called Bounce, was 設立する in a field on Monday April 15 苦しむing from a build-up of gas under the 肌 予定 to an 感染.

救助者s worked against the clock to save the creature before she could 爆発する, 注入するing her to let the build up of gas hiss out.

The hedgehog, which had ballooned to twice her normal size, is 回復するing at a hedgehog 救助(する) centre and 存在 扱う/治療するd for 'balloon syndrome.'??

Emily Harper of Wild Hogs Hedgehog 救助(する) said Bounce had been 苦しむing from a bacterial 感染.

Rescuers had to work quickly to deflate the hedgehog who was suffering from an infection under her skin

She said: 'It happens when a bacterial 感染 gets underneath the 肌.

'We すぐに deflated her because she was so big, her 肌 was so tight.

'She couldn't curl up, she couldn't walk because her 脚s were 罠にかける.

'We took her to the vets. We could see some 血 on her 長,率いる.

'There are lots of things that can 原因(となる) balloon syndrome, so we 手配中の,お尋ね者 to make sure she was checked over.

'We think she had a 負傷させる that became 感染させるd.

'The 肌 had 傷をいやす/和解させるd over, but hedgehogs have a unique structure where they have 肌, a gap, and then their muscular skeletal structure underneath.

'When that becomes 感染させるd, the 負傷させる 解放(する)s gas, and if its 罠にかける, the hedgehog 拡大するs.

The 救助者 追加するd that Bounce is still やめる large and would need to be cared for for a little while, 追加するing that while she hasn't re-inflated, there's still more gas 罠にかける under her 肌.?

She also said that she was surprised the hedgehog had even been spotted.

Emily s 援助(する): 'She was so big that a man on a bus managed to 位置/汚点/見つけ出す her in a field.

'She'd grown so big you couldn't see her 脚s and her 肌 was very tight at the 限界 of what it could stretch to.

'She was very large but 一般に in good health.'

Wild Hogs Hedgehog 救助(する) centre takes in around 500 hedgehogs a year.

The animal 救助(する) 労働者 said 'What we do see this time of year is everyone going out and cutting their grass and lots of hedgehogs 存在 負傷させるd by strimmers.

'We've had three hedgehogs in over the last two weeks and they've all been 致命的な.

'So we ask everyone to really be careful.'

The 救助(する) centre will keep Bounce in its care for another few weeks, before 解放(する)ing her 支援する into the wild 近づく where she was 設立する.
