A 退役軍人 BBC presenter says he has been scammed out of half of his life 貯金 by a scammer who called him up 提起する/ポーズをとるing as his bank's 詐欺 department.

Peter 徴収する, who 現在のs 地域の news programme Look North, 認める that he had fallen for the scam にもかかわらず 行為/行うing interviews on how to 避ける 存在 搾取するd in the past.

He told BBC 無線で通信する Humberside's Richard Stead that he felt 'stupid' and '厚い' after learning that he had been duped by a 犯罪の who phoned him one evening in February (人命などを)奪う,主張するing there was unusual activity on his account.

Mr 徴収する then gave his online banking login 詳細(に述べる)s to the fraudster - who proceeded to help themselves to cash before his real bank stepped in to 削減(する) them off.

The presenter, who has been a 正規の/正選手 fixture on TV 審査するs in the north of England for 10年間s, said he had struggled to sleep after learning he had fallen for a scam.

'Nobody knows about this here but I was scammed out of half of my life 貯金 earlier this year and it was traumatic,' he told Mr Stead?in the clip, 利用できる on BBC Sounds.

'I literally hadn 't been to sleep 夜通し because it was so stressful and it is the most horrific, horrific feeling. It is 絶対 awful. You feel stupid, you feel 厚い.

'It's still 存在 sorted out, just this lunchtime I've been to a bank. It's awful.'

He 解任するd: 'It was about 7.20 in the evening. They (犯罪の)一味 up and they'll say, "this is the 詐欺 department of (the bank) here, we've noticed some unusual activity on your account. Have you spent £500 in the last hour?"

'And I said: "No, I 港/避難所't spent £500 in the last hour, I've been at work". (They say) "Oh in that 事例/患者 we need you to スピードを出す/記録につける on to your account, we need to make some 安全 checks".?

'And of course I logged の上に the account and of course it wasn't the 詐欺 department of the bank at all - it was a fraudster.

'I've talked about this on the 空気/公表する, I've listened to interviews, I've done interviews and I fell for it and I fell for it 不正に and got caught.'

He 追加するd that he was sure a 'very high 百分率' of people have been a 犠牲者 of scams 'whether it's thruppence ha'penny or half your life 貯金'.

Mr 徴収する continued: 'Either way it is so traumatising and upsetting and everything. It's dreadful, 絶対 dreadful.

'You can't sleep, you can't do anything, you feel helpless.'

He 追加するd that he was 有罪の of using the same password for most of his accounts - something 安全 専門家s advise against as fraudsters can then tap into 多重の accounts if they manage to learn the codeword.?

'I'll be honest, I've got the same for everything. I don't use Peter1234, it's a lot better than that, but it is the same thing and you shouldn't do that,' he said.

Referring to password 経営者/支配人s, which can 生成する and save hard-to-割れ目 passwords, Richard Stead replied: 'You can get little gadgets that does it for you. It 申し込む/申し出s you and then 蓄える/店s it on there. That's what I tend to do on 地雷.'

BBC presenter Mr 徴収する 追加するd that his bank had told him of other scams to watch for - such as QR code scams that see 本物の codes for parking メーターs and electric car 非難する points 取って代わるd by fraudsters.

When scanned by an unwilling 犠牲者, the codes direct 使用者s to fraudulent 支払い(額) pages that are used to steal banking 詳細(に述べる)s.

'There are scams going on at the moment and this is a good one to remember,' Mr 徴収する said.

'You go into the car park, a public car park, there's a 列 for the 支払う/賃金 machine, so you want to ざっと目を通す the app on the 塀で囲む and 支払う/賃金 like that.

'Don't do that because those are... they're putting stickers on and (people are) getting caught.?

'列, be 患者, don't use the thing on the 塀で囲む: 26 people got caught in a day in 船体 by that.'?
