A couple who swapped their 'loud and busy' life in Edinburgh for a 'slower way of living' on the 小島 of Skye said they would never return to the city.

Elopement photographers and filmmakers Joanna and Nathan Gull said they 'moved from flat to flat' in Edinburgh and felt like they 'never had space to breathe'.

After visiting the 小島 of Skye for work, it was love at first sight. The two 'すぐに knew it was home' and 設立する an idyllic 田舎の cottage to rent in the Strathaird 半島 on the south coast.?

The pair, who are 初めは from Nottingham, made the move in August 2023 and now spend their days 調査するing the island and waking up to 'beautiful scenery'.?

The pair live in a rented cottage on the Strathaird 半島 and spend their days waking up to 'beautiful scenery'

While she said it takes them の近くに to an hour to 'pop to the shops' on the island, as …に反対するd to a ten-minute 一連の会議、交渉／完成する trip in Edinburgh, she explained: 'We enjoy slowness and would much rather take our time to enjoy things than feel 急ぐd.'

The pair have been able to continue their 職業s on the island, utilising the beauty of the 小島 of Skye as a 背景 for couples' photoshoots.

On shoot days, Joanna said they'll wake up before sunrise and 長，率いる to 'wherever it is on the island we're working'.?

The couple work as elopement photographers and utilise the beauty of the 小島 of Skye. They'll enjoy a 'slow morning' and 調査する the island when they aren't working

But when they're not working, she said they'll usually have a 'slow morning' and '長，率いる out for a wander to get some fresh 空気／公表する'.

The 27-year-old said: 'Life is 自然に slower in the Highlands, which 作品 井戸／弁護士席 for our brains and how we operate.

‘Skye also just feels so much safer.’

What’s more, they 港／避難所't struggled to 会合，会う people and even （人命などを）奪う，主張する they have more friends visiting their remote cottage than they ever did in their city flat.?

While Joanna said they 'already had lots of friends living on the island', she has been able to connect with 'other photographers and artists who all have 類似の values'.

They even spend their spare time 調査するing other Scottish islands, such as 吊りくさび and Harris in the Outer Hebrides, which Joanna said must have 'some of the most beautiful beaches in the world'.

For those fancying a trip to the 小島 of Skye, Joanna recommends 引き上げ（る）ing the Old Man of Storr, a rocky hill on the Trotternish 半島, before 長，率いるing to the beach.
