Listening to the 勝利，勝つd howl and watching the rain 攻撃する against my window in my little room at the Baltasound Hotel on the intriguing island of Unst in the Shetland Islands, I was 極端に glad to be where I was.

It wasn't just that I was 避けるing the 強風. It was a feeling of 存在 井戸／弁護士席 away from the hustle and bustle of 正規の／正選手 life ? up with the fulmar petrels, kittiwakes, gannets, guillemots, gulls and puffins (and not much else) in Britain's most northerly hotel.

Baltasound Hotel opened in 1939 on Britain's most northerly 住むd island. There are 22 rooms, a restaurant and a 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業 serving whisky ? 自然に - for a '少しの 阻止する' after a を締めるing walk along the rugged coastline 近づく the 入り口.

That's the big attraction of remote Unst, 全住民 632, about a dozen miles long by five miles wide: getting out on the footpaths to 調査する the 劇の landscape with its 急落（する），激減（する）ing cliffs and barren moonscape-like 内部の.

Here, you are その上の north than Oslo, the Norwegian 資本／首都, and about level with Bergen in Norway and its famous fjordlands, a mere 200 miles across the North Sea to the east.

Tom says that the big attraction on Unst is 'getting out on the footpaths to 調査する the 劇の landscape with its 急落（する），激減（する）ing cliffs and barren moonscape-like 内部の'

Unst is above the 60th 平行の ? not all that far away from the 北極の Circle, which comes at around the 66th 平行の (closer to the island than London).

But, aside from its 場所, there's another 推論する／理由 to 長，率いる for Unst and the Baltasound Hotel ? it might just be 地元の literary legend Robert Louis Stevenson's real Treasure Island.

The story goes lik e this: Stevenson visited Unst in 1869, 老年の nine, to see the lighthouse 存在 built on the uninhabited island of Muckle Flugga, little more than a barren 激しく揺する poking out of the sea just to the north of Unst. He had been taken by his father, the renowned lighthouse engineer Thomas Stevenson.

This impressionable visit is said to have 宿泊するd itself in the writer's imagination and when it （機の）カム to penning Treasure Island, his classic tale of buccaneering 著作権侵害者s published in 1883, some believe he was 奮起させるd by Unst. The 'proof' of this is that the 形態／調整 he 述べるs of his fictional island ? 'like a fat dragon standing up' ? corresponds remarkably with the 輪郭（を描く） of the little-visited Scottish island.

True or not ? and Stevenson never let on - it's nice to imagine you are on Treasure Island, while setting off on a morning 引き上げ（る） from Baltasound Hotel on the northern 辛勝する／優位 of the village of Baltasound, after a hearty Scottish breakfast served by the friendly, laidback staff (excellent bacon and eggs).

The rooms at the hotel are in an 別館 connected to the main old 石／投石する building dating from the 1860s ? 地雷 was in this part, a comfy 選び出す／独身 room with a natty tartan bedcover, 支持を得ようと努めるd パネル盤s and a caramel-coloured carpet ? 同様に as in a 一連の スピードを出す／記録につける cabins in the grounds. In these, larger rooms 含むing a 'family cabin' with bunk beds for children are 位置を示すd.

On a ramble, you soon pass fields of sheep ? and some Shetland ponies - to Britain's most northerly church, the Haroldswick Methodist Church, 同様に as Britain's most northerly 地位，任命する Office, Britain's most northerly tearoom (Victoria's Vintage Tea Rooms), and the stark remains of Britain's most northerly 城, Muness 城, built in 1598.

Plenty of tourist 調印するs について言及する the extreme geographical 場所, which has been 可決する・採択するd as the 非公式の 地元の スローガン.

'Oh yes, that's within 見解（をとる） of the hotel. You can get a bus up from Lerwick [Shet land's 資本／首都], 経由で the フェリー（で運ぶ）s between all the islands for about £8,' says Steve, owner of the Baltasound Hotel, who 追加するs that many guests are birdwatchers and photographers 長，率いるing for Hermaness 国家の Nature Reserve to see the puffins and 'Keen of Hamar Nature Reserve'.

Over the past couple of years, the hotel has been attracting '（警官の）巡回区域，受持ち区域 the heat' summer holidaymakers from as far afield as Switzerland and Italy, says Steve (who prefers not to give his surname). 'It's the 場所 that draws people in,' he says. 'It's a wilderness 場所 in a busy world: a 本物の place. Unspoilt.'

A real treasure of an island indeed.
