Blackpool 激しく揺するs! Inside the 沿岸の town brimming with old-fashioned seaside 楽しみs - and how it's trying to attract a more discerning 訪問者...

There’s something disorientating about parking beneath the 急に上がるing 宙返り飛行 of the UK’s tallest rollercoaster.

But since Blackpool’s uber-luxe Boulevard Hotel (styled as BLVD) is owned by Amanda Thompson, whose family have run the 楽しみ Beach amusement park for four 世代s, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that guests leave their cars within touching distance of The Big One.

What’s more of a 発覚 is that this Lancashire seaside 訴える手段／行楽地 ― a 伝統的な semaphore for 半導体素子 shops, slot machines and bawdy entertainment ― has a very different 味方する.

Of course the いわゆる Golden Mile, a 肺-buster of family attractions such as Sea Life, Madame Tussauds and 珊瑚 Island 同様に as Blackpool’s three piers, still draws in the （人が）群がるs. While the 楽しみ Beach is one of the UK’s most visited tourist attractions (Boulevard guests can 接近 it 経由で a VIP 入り口).

But to box in Blackpool as a 3D saucy seaside postcard is to 行方不明になる so much about its 遺産.

Certainly, there are 計画（する）s to attract a more discerning 訪問者. Marco Pierre White is even 開始 a restaurant here. Of course, the most obvious 表現 of the town’s 遺産 is the Grade I-名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）d Blackpool Tower (recently in the news for a 偽の 解雇する／砲火／射撃, which turned out to be orange netting).

Opened in 1894 and 急に上がるing 518ft, it’s half the size of the Eiffel Tower, which had 奮起させるd 市長 of Blackpool Sir John Bickerstaffe to （売買）手数料，委託（する）／委員会／権限 the 事業／計画（する）.

It’s hugely impressive. On the one 手渡す, you’ll find the oak, mahogany and walnut 木造の ballroom designed by Victorian architect Frank Matcham plays host to daily tea dances. But take a 解除する to the 首脳会議 for a panoramic 見解（をとる） of the Fylde coast and a chance to squeal in 恐れる when gingerly stepping on the 5cm-厚い glass 見解（をとる）ing 壇・綱領・公約.

Outside the tower, we browse a 抱擁する grid of public art. Known as Blackpool’s Comedy Carpet, it immortalises and celebrates the jokes, songs and comedy catchphrases of Britain’s most 井戸／弁護士席-loved comedians and writers (some better than others). 一方／合間 Showtown, a new museum showcasing how the town became a 中心 for 有望な lights and entertainment, will open next month.

Even in winter there’s no getting away from the lights and colour.?

So, for a more genteel 転換, we 長，率いる to Stanley Park ― designed by Thomas Mawson & Sons in 1922 ― to admire its bandstand, Italian gardens, art deco cafe and boating lake crested by ornamental 橋（渡しをする）s.

支援する in the 慰安 of the BLVD lounge, we enjoy the strangely 治療力のある 見解（をとる） of unforgiving brown waves curling up に向かって the beach. 明確に, Blackpool is trying hard to serve all tastes. And, like the 偽の 解雇する／砲火／射撃 at the tower, all is definitely not what it seems.
