Rubbing shoulders with the rich, travelling to the world's most exotic 場所s and living for 解放する/自由な on luxurious 大型船s - working 船内に a superyacht might sound like a dream 職業.?

But life below deck has its challenges, によれば Abbi Robertson, a superyacht chef who has spent seven years 巡航するing the high seas.

Beneath the glamorous surface, the seasoned yachtie 明らかにする/漏らすs there are months spent away from family and 16-hour working days - and that there is no privacy.

The 31-year-old, from Buckinghamshire, spoke to MailOnline Travel about the highs and lows of the 職業. 'I wouldn't change my experiences for anything, but you have to 受託する this lifestyle comes with drawbacks,' she said.?

Abbi began her superyacht 旅行 in 2017, すぐに after giving up a 安定した 職業 as a 事業/計画(する) 経営者/支配人 for a bifold door company. She had no 計画(する)s other than to 'maybe go and travel for a bit' and fell into the lifestyle by chance.?

She 完全にするd a compulsory training course in Antibes, フラン. And, within days, she was on a 50-metre motoryacht in St Tropez. After working as a 乗組員 member for a year, Abbi saved up her tip money to 支払う/賃金 for a culinary course at Ashburton Chef 学院 and 移行d into working in the galley.?

Abbi 現在/一般に 作品 on a?中央の-sized superyacht and serves a 最大限 of eight guests and five 乗組員 members.?

She 作品 on a rotation, spending 10 weeks at sea and 10 weeks on land. Before that, she worked 十分な-time spending most of her time on board with only six weeks holiday a year.?

A typical day begins at 6:30am, prepping and serving breakfast and planning meals for the day. After that, she'll serve lunch, which 変化させるs between a three-course 罰金-dining menu or 株ing platters 'depending on what the guests prefer'.?

Abbi will take a quick break after lunch, before 準備するing a '甘い 扱う/治療する' or afternoon tea at 3pm and canapes for cocktail hour at 6:00pm. At 7:00pm, she'll serve dinner and '取り組む the mountain of washing up in the galley'.??

One thing that surprised Abbi about working on a superyacht is how 堅い the work is.?

'A superyacht has to work perfectly and look brand new every time the guests come onboard. That takes a hell of a lot of work and a lot of late nights to 達成する.'?

And plenty of difficulties come with spending long periods of time at sea.?

From finding it impossible to cook while the 'boat is bouncing along' to the 欠如(する) of work/life balance and 決まりきった仕事, Abbi said the lifestyle is not 'ふさわしい to everyone'.?

She said: 'The obvious downsides are 存在 far from family, having no privacy or any 肉親,親類d of work/life balance - hard when you live at work - but the thing I have 設立する hardest as I've got older is the 欠如(する) of 決まりきった仕事 or consist ency. You build up a group of friends in one port and get used to your life there, but any minute you could get told by the captain that you're sailing to the other 味方する of the world and you have to start all over again.'?

But for Abbi, working on a superyacht is '価値(がある) it'.?

The highs, she said, 含む visiting 'some incredible countries that I've never even heard of before', with standouts that 含む 'sailing through the Magellan 海峡s in Patagonia, spending a 十分な year in Tahiti and visiting the islands of Vanuatu'.
