We »Ï¤á¤ë¡¤·è¤á¤ë off with some trepidation, given the Ũ°Õs in the Middle East. But the Foreign Office advice was that?Egypt was °ÂÁ´¤Ê ¡½ and still is.
So, we (my wife, Montserrat, and our younger daughter, Sofia, 15) decided to keep ÀŤá¤ë and carry on with our trip to Somabay, ¶á¤Å¤¯ Hurghada on the Red Sea Riviera.
Our Wizz ¶õµ¤¡¿¸øɽ¤¹¤ë flight from Luton was nearly ½½Ê¬¤Ê, so it was °Â¿´¤µ¤»¤ëing that many British travellers felt the same.
°ÂÁ´ at Somabay is a ºÇ¹â¤Î¡¤¤ò±Û¤¹ Í¥Àè.
It¡Çs a gated, guarded Áʤ¨¤ë¼êÃÊ¡¿¹Ô³ÚÃÏ on a ¸Ä¿Í¤È¤·¤Æ-owned ȾÅç 40 mins from Hurghada airport, accessible only by road, for which a pass is needed to enter.

Somabay has five hotels, but we stayed in a newly-built, two-bedroom, serviced Stayr apartment with sea ¸«²ò¡Ê¤ò¤È¤ë¡Ës and a big swimming pool ³ôd with other µï½»¡Ê¼Ô¡Ës.
The company has one-bedroom apartments from as little as ¡ò94 per night.
There is ¥´¥ë¥Õ, go-karting, paintballing, Æ»¶ñ-surfing and a water park on ¿½¤·¹þ¤à¡¿¿½¤·½Ð, but the greatest activity was ²òÊü¤¹¤ë¡¿¼«Í³¤Ê ¡½ a 1,500ft ÌÚ¤¤Î jetty with an ¡Æend-of-the-pier show¡Ç.

In Hurghada, a meal for a family of four cost about ¡ò30.
