星／主役にする-struck in Vietnam: Actress Anna Friel unwinds with her daughter on a remote eco-friendly island after filming ITV's Marcella

'You want an Anna juice?’ I am asked every morning at breakfast. Yes, please, although I never やめる work out what 正確に／まさに is in it ― some combination of greens and home-made live yoghurt. But it does the trick and after a couple of days, I’m starting to feel human again.

But other factors are at play ― and I have a feeling they might just be making a difference, too. I am on a remote island off Vietnam’s south-east coast, staying at Six Senses 反対／詐欺 Dao with my ten-year-old daughter Gracie.

If you can’t rediscover your mojo here then forget it. And what a total contrast from the dark and コンビナート／複合体 world of Marcella, the ITV 演劇 I finished a few days before 長，率いるing out.

The hotel is a short flight (just under an hour) from the mad streets of Saigon and is 保護するd by lush, forest-覆う？ mountains on a mile-long stretch of sand.

Our 郊外住宅, one of 50, has been designed to 反映する the natural surroundings. It’s wonderfully luxurious, but what I love is the 完全にする absence of disingenuous smiles from the staff, no hanging around for tips, and the way nothing is too much trouble.

The general ethos behind Six Senses is a かかわり合い to 改善するing the 生態学の and 炭素 足跡. For example, all 郊外住宅s come with bicycles although if you can’t 直面する the thought of peddling, there are ゴルフ buggies.

After a couple of days, I worry that I’ve come during a 静かな period, but I later learn it’s at 最大限 capacity. It’s so spaced out that you can go a whole day on the beach without seeing another soul.

My fellow island companions are a mix of couples and families. I get the impression that they think I am Gracie’s nanny because this is not an obvious choice for a mother-and-daughter holiday. It’s a long way to go and it’s expensive, but neither of us will ever forget it.

The sea is like a 巨大（な） bath. It has gentle waves, so Gracie and I paddle-board almost every day. I do my daily 演習 in the pristine pool ― a 始める，決める 決まりきった仕事 that 要求するs me to 持つ／拘留する の上に the pool-味方する to 成し遂げる a 一連の Pilates moves.

A short 運動 away is 反対／詐欺 Dao 刑務所，拘置所 ― a haunting 思い出の品 of the island’s former use as a 刑務所，拘置所 植民地. The 刑務所，拘置所 was built in 1861 by the French and used during the Vietnam War to house the Vietcong and anyone who was against the U.S.-支援するd Saigon 政府. It was cruel in the extreme. Most 訪問者s will not want to ぐずぐず残る, but it’s important to see it.

支援する in the world of five-星／主役にする 高級な, we have our own GEM (or 私的な butler) and a gem she 証明するs to be. She asks what activities we want to do on any given day or if we want our 郊外住宅 cleaned, even what 肉親，親類d of pillow we prefer.

The hotel spa is exceptional. I have five massages and also 参加する a singing bowl meditation 開会／開廷／会期 with Gracie. Singing bowls are a type of 手渡す-（手先の）技術d bowl, that looks a little like a metal pestle and 迫撃砲, in which a baton 循環させるs to produce a soothing sound.

Probably not Gracie’s first choice of activity, but I think she still enjoys it and has more patience than me.

I look at her and 反映する on what my holidays were like at the same age.

As a child, I longed to go on a 一括 小旅行する with friends but, instead, my parents 主張するd on the long 運動 from Rochdale to gites somewhere in the middle of フラン.

We did the same trip every year, but at least I learnt French, which comes in handy at Six Senses when I find myself playing the interpreter for Gracie with her new Pari sian friend from the 訴える手段／行楽地s Kids’ Club.

The only real adult conversation I have is with Andy, the talented and charming 長，率いる chef from Yorkshire. But the 欠如（する） of grown-up 対話 doesn’t bother me one bit. Then Gracie 発表するs that our stay 量s to the best holiday she’s ever had.

I take this as a 抱擁する compliment given that it’s just the two of us. And agree wholeheartedly.
