How to 位置／汚点／見つけ出す a social マスコミ scam: The five 警告 調印するs you are their next 的

With nine out of ten of us using social マスコミ, we are just a swipe away from a run-in with 犯罪のs.
But tricksters are using ますます clever techniques to hide their 動機s and appear 本物の, making use of brand logos, 偽の T&Cs and copycat website links to 誘惑する you in.
They typically use links for you to enter your 詳細（に述べる）s. But clicking on these can send your personal （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） to third parties and, occasionally, 株 the 地位，任命する with your friends and family, によれば 消費者 group Which?.?
Friends and family might then 落ちる for the scam because they are likely to see the message and regard it as an 裏書，是認.
Here are five ways to 位置／汚点／見つけ出す the scams and （警官の）巡回区域，受持ち区域 the scammers...

1. Too good to be true
Scam artists prey on 財政上の vulnerabilities and t ry to manipulate your 願望（する） to solve problems you may have.?
They will typically make an enticing 申し込む／申し出 that is too good to be true, for example, by selling goods at a 抱擁する 割引, or an 投資 that 支払う／賃金s a ‘保証（人）d’ high return.
The first thing you should do is a quick search for the 昇進／宣伝 online, says Which?. If the company or brand is 促進するing a 取引，協定 on social マスコミ, they are likely to be also 促進するing it on their 合法的 website’s homepage.
This 適用するs to all types of scams, says Nicola Harding of scams 認識／意識性 taskforce We Fight 詐欺.?
Dr Harding, who is also a criminology professor at Lancaster University, says: ‘Whether you are buying 着せる／賦与するs or a console on social マスコミ, these things don’t come 平易な, so if the 申し込む／申し出 looks too good, it probably is.’
2. You are sent a link
Be on the 警戒／見張り for 偽の links, and 検査／視察する any you aren’t sure about before clicking on them.
偽の links can 含む／封じ込める malware which 許すs the scammer to 伸び（る） 接近 to a Facebook 使用者’s スピードを出す／記録につける-in 詳細（に述べる）s and personal （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状）.
使用者s who click on the scam can, in some circumstances, be locked out of their account, with the hacker taking it over, and then is able to send the same message to people on their friends 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）.
In many 事例／患者s you might not ever realise the link was fraudulent, Dr Harding says. ‘You might receive an email from Facebook 警告 you that there has been a new スピードを出す／記録につける in from an unrecognised 演説（する）／住所, never click on any links.
‘Go straight to the 使用／適用 and check your 安全 from there,’ she explains.
‘If you click on a link from an email and it turns out to be fraudulent, you are likely to be directed to a page that looks like Facebook’s スピードを出す／記録につける-in website, asking you to enter your email and password. It will then redirect you to Facebook’s 本物の homepage.
Red light: Facebook Marketplace scammers will typically make an 申し込む／申し出 that is too good to be true - 申し込む／申し出ing goods at a 抱擁する 割引
‘It’s very 平易な for them to 始める，決める up a website that looks like Facebook’s スピードを出す／記録につける-in page, but in that moment, they have 逮捕（する）d your 詳細（に述べる）s, 含むing your password.’
Scammers can then steal any personal data linked to the Facebook account, 含むing email 演説（する）／住所s, phone numbers and birth dates ― which can be used to break into any of your 非，不，無-Facebook accounts.
With this （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状）, 犯罪のs can take credit out in your 指名する or change your 演説（する）／住所 with the DVLA, 適用する for a 運動ing licence and use that to commit 身元 詐欺, Dr Harding says.
More importantly, if the account has bank 詳細（に述べる）s or 財政上の （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） linked to it, hackers can also steal a 使用者’s money, too.
Do not click on any links in messages that seem 怪しげな. Fraudulent websites often use a domain 指名する that 言及／関連s a 井戸／弁護士席-known brand or 製品 指名する to look 合法的.
Look for a padlock next to a website’s URL. This means the 場所／位置 is encrypted, so anything you do on it, such as browse or make 支払い（額）s, can’t be 迎撃するd.Most websites now have this feature, so if a 場所／位置 doesn’t have one it could be a red 旗.
However, scammers can (1)偽造する／(2)徐々に進む or buy these padlocks, so seeing one doesn’t always mean a website is 安全な, Which? 警告するs.
3. The brand looks 偽の
Scammers use sophisticated tricks to 提起する／ポーズをとる as 本物の companies. Check the 地位，任命する for branding inconsistencies and look closely to see if they are using the 権利 logo, or if the 贈呈 is up to the usual 法人組織の／企業の 基準.
If it’s a brand you’ve never heard of, go to its profile page and have a proper look at how it’s 現在のing itself, Which? advises. Does it look professional or sloppy? Read reviews for extra peace of mind.

4. 地位，任命する keeps popping up
If you are seeing a recurring 地位，任命する 株d by several friends on your timeline, this may be a red 旗.
Your friends may not realise they have 株d a scam link or advert. Send a 私的な message to your friend or family member asking them if they 地位，任命するd the status.
信用 your instincts and remain 怪しげな. It’s better to 行方不明になる out on one 取引，協定 than give away your personal 詳細（に述べる）s for scammers.
‘If you are buying something on an online marketplace, think about whether you know this person in real life. If you do, then call to 立証する it’s them. If you don’t, you can 示唆する dropping the money off at their house.’
5. Bank 移転 request
If you are asked to 支払う／賃金 for somethi ng online by making a bank 移転, don’t do it unless you know the 販売人 本人自身で.
If you buy an item that turns out to be 偽の or 非，不，無-existent with a credit or debit card, you do have some 権利s to get your money 支援する. But if you 支払う／賃金 by bank 移転, there’s very little you can do to get your cash 支援する.
