  • Social マスコミ companies have finally agreed to take 責任/義務 for scam 地位,任命するs
  • Twelve of the largest tech 会社/堅いs 調印するd an 協定 with the UK 政府?

Social マスコミ 巨大(な)s have been given six months to ‘意味ありげに’ 減ずる the 疫病/流行性の of scams on their 壇・綱領・公約s ― or 直面する 活動/戦闘 from the 政府.

The 警告 is 問題/発行するd in Money Mail today by 安全 大臣 Tom Tugendhat after a major 打開 in our crusade against online crooks.

Money Mail’s Stop the Social マスコミ Scammers (選挙などの)運動をする has been calling on the 政府 to 軍隊 tech 巨大(な)s to better 保護する 使用者s from 犯罪のs who 疫病/悩ます social マスコミ 場所/位置s 追跡(する)ing for 犠牲者s.

In a victory that could 保護する millions from online 詐欺, social マスコミ companies last week finally agreed to take 責任/義務 for the scam 地位,任命するs 毒(薬)ing their 壇・綱領・公約s.

Twelve of the world’s largest tech companies, 含むing Facebook, Instagram and アマゾン, 調印するd a groundbreaking 協定 with the 政府 to step up their 成果/努力s to 割れ目 負かす/撃墜する on 詐欺 in the UK.

Mr Tugendhat, who has been the 運動ing 軍隊 behind the 協定, says that Money Mail’s (選挙などの)運動をする has been ‘hugely important in getting us to this point’.?

The ‘world first’ 詐欺 協定 is 伸び(る)ing international attention from the 安全 大臣’s foreign 相当するものs, and he will 現在の the 借り切る/憲章 to G7 大臣s in Japan this 週末, he tells us.

Google, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube and eBay are の中で those to have committed to taking その上の 活動/戦闘 to 封鎖する and 除去する fraudulent content from their 場所/位置s, in a 企て,努力,提案 to 保護する their 使用者s from online scams, 偽の adverts and romance 詐欺. Microsoft, X (正式に Twitter), LinkedIn and Match Group have also 調印するd the 借り切る/憲章.

The new 指導基準s tech 巨大(な)s have agreed to should 意味ありげに 減ずる the number of scams on social マスコミ and 確実にする people are more 保護するd, says Mr Tugendhat.?

‘This is an enormously important step and one that should make us all safer,’ he 追加するs.

Companies have been given six months to 器具/実施する the 対策, which 含む working more closely with UK 法律 施行 and 立証するing a greater number of 使用者s.

The 政府’s 共同の 詐欺 Taskforce, led by the 安全 大臣, will 持つ/拘留する companies to account after the six-month grace period.

Until now, tech 巨大(な)s have been 抵抗力のある to change, Mr Tugendhat 追加するs: ‘We have 押し進めるd the tech companies その上の than they 手配中の,お尋ね者 to go.

‘This is the first time anyone has asked them to take 責任/義務 for the 壇・綱領・公約s they host.

‘The 抱擁する change here is they are recognising that 責任/義務, and that’s why they’ve been やめる 抵抗力のある to going as far as they’ve gone.

‘It is their 責任/義務 to 確実にする their 使用者s are who they say they are, and not to magnify 詐欺. They must filter it out and 答える/応じる to scams by stopping them.’

The new 始める,決める of 指導基準s will 要求する 貿易(する)ing 壇・綱領・公約s, such as Facebook Marketplace, to 申し込む/申し出 or 供給する (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) on 安全な・保証する 支払い(額) services that can be used for 購入(する)s made on their 場所/位置.

In some 事例/患者s, they do not 申し込む/申し出 安全な・保証する 支払い(額) systems, so 顧客s 欠如(する) 保護 when buying items advertised by other 使用者s.?

For example, in the UK, Facebook Marketplace doesn’t have a built-in 支払い(額) service, as eBay does with PayPal, or アマゾン with its credit and debit card 支払い(額) 施設. So shoppers often use bank 移転s to send money direct to 販売人s ― putting them at far greater 危険 of 存在 scammed.

For months, Money Mail has 警告するd of an 爆発 of scams on the 貿易(する)ing 場所/位置 and has called for a 安全な・保証する 支払い(額) system to be put in place.

The 会社/堅いs must also 立証する new advertisers and 敏速に 除去する any fraudulent content. They will also 増加する levels of 立証 on online 貿易(する)ing marketplaces. People using online dating services will be given the 選択 to 証明する they are who they say they are.

It 示すs a victory for the Mail’s (選挙などの)運動をする, which has called for tech companies to 始める,決める up tougher 身元 立証 対策 to stop fraudsters setting up social マスコミ accounts.

Until now, many social マスコミ 巨大(な)s have not 十分に 立証するd the 身元s of the people and companies who want to buy or sell on their 壇・綱領・公約s, which has left 使用者s 攻撃を受けやすい to scammers.

Mr Tugendhat says: ‘I’m very 感謝する for the work that the Daily Mail has done ― it has been incredibly important. The newspaper has been 押し進めるing for all of these 面s for a long time and it has made a 抱擁する difference in getting us to a 広大な/多数の/重要な place with the 借り切る/憲章.’

Under the 借り切る/憲章, all 12 companies have agreed to work closely with UK 法律 施行 to help 跡をつける 負かす/撃墜する 犯罪のs operating on their 壇・綱領・公約s, and will make it easier to quickly identify and 除去する fraudulent content from their 場所/位置s. They will also 答える/応じる to 法律 施行 requests to 供給する (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) on 執拗な 感情を害する/違反するing.

Each of the 12 tech companies must have a 献身的な 詐欺 officer, who will then have a much better 関係 with UK 法律 施行 and 知能 services, Mr Tugendhat says.

He 追加するs: ‘We’ve been very (疑いを)晴らす with tech companies that the 借り切る/憲章 must ma ke a 重要な difference to the levels of 詐欺 on their 壇・綱領・公約s. So we’re going to be watching the results carefully. And if they fail to 会合,会う 期待s, then we’ll have a look at other 対策 as necessary.

‘If any of these 面s don’t 配達する as we ーするつもりである, we can 行為/法令/行動する. But I’m 確信して they now take their 責任/義務s 本気で.’

However, the new 借り切る/憲章 was 調印するd on a voluntary basis, so it remains to be seen how much 活動/戦闘 will be taken.

Banking 産業 leaders say they are 関心d about whether the voluntary 対策 will be fully 器具/実施するd.

One insider, who asked to remain 匿名の/不明の, says: ‘There’s a degree of scepticism at the moment about whether it’s going to be fully realised and the tech companies will step up. These are excellent 対策 that we’ve all been calling for, but the proof is in the pudding.’

Until now, many social media giants have not sufficiently verified the identities of the people and companies who want to buy or sell on their platforms, which has left users vulnerable

The 協定 comes after the Mail hosted a major 詐欺 首脳会議 in London last month, …に出席するd by Mr Tugendhat, 産業 group UK 財政/金融, 上級の 銀行業者s and 政治家,政治屋s.

産業 leaders 警告するd that social マスコミ 壇・綱領・公約s were failing to take 責任/義務 for 詐欺 ―and were likely to continue to do so unless the 政府 施行するd 堅い new 支配するs.

Liz Ziegler, 詐欺 予防 director at Lloyds Banking Group, says the 協定 is a ‘step in the 権利 direction’, because these social マスコミ 壇・綱領・公約s 容易にする organised 罪,犯罪.

‘This 活動/戦闘 is 決定的な given 80 per cent of scams start online, and we look 今後 to seeing tech 会社/堅いs move with 真面目さ and pace to 演説(する)/住所 the 詐欺 their 使用者s are 落ちるing 犠牲者 to, with the 政府 持つ/拘留するing them to account.’

Paul Davis, director of 詐欺 予防 at TSB, says it is 決定的な tech companies do far more to stop scammers.

‘It’s 負かす/撃墜する to all 加盟国s to match their かかわり合い with meaningful 活動/戦闘: putting 保護s in place to 減ずる 詐欺 and 保護する millions of 消費者s.’

A 広報担当者 at Starling Bank says the 対策 fell short of 軍隊ing tech 会社/堅いs to reimburse 犠牲者s of scams on their 場所/位置s.

‘This is a welcome step, but we would like to see the 対策 go その上の so that social マスコミ, online marketplace and telco companies that are 重要な enablers of this 詐欺 are made to contr ibute to the reimbursement of 犠牲者s.’

Jim Winters, of 全国的な Building Society, says that success ‘must be 裁判官d through results’, but that tech companies may still 欠如(する) real 財政上の incentive to 運動 meaningful change.

Ben Donaldson, of UK 財政/金融, says: ‘We really want to see the public 存在 better 保護するd from these 犯罪のs, but we need to 確実にする the 政府 makes 強健な enough checks on the tech companies.’
