顧客s 調書をとる/予約するing holiday accommodation on the website 調書をとる/予約するing.com are 勧めるd to be aware of scammers impersonating 本物の hotels.?

This is Money has seen messages from fraudsters which appeared on the 場所/位置's 安全な・保証する messaging portal, asking them to make 支払い(額)s to 安全な・保証する a 保留(地)/予約.

A reader 警報d us to the message, which he received when he was 交流ing messages with the owner of a hotel he had 調書をとる/予約するd for an 近づいている trip.

Imposters: Fraudsters are infiltrating messages between hotels and their customers on the Booking.com website, and asking them for extra payments

ペテン師s: Fraudsters are infiltrating messages between hotels and their 顧客s on the 調書をとる/予約するing.com website, and asking them for extra 支払い(額)s

This is 類似の to a previous?調書をとる/予約するing.com scam 報告(する)/憶測d in October 2023, when a number of travellers also said they had received fraudulent messages asking for 支払い(額).?

In the new 事例/患者, the reader had 交流d several 本物の messages with the hotel they had 調書をとる/予約するd 経由で 調書をとる/予約するing's 内部の messaging system.?

These also (機の)カム through as 警報s to their personal email account, which was linked with their 調書をとる/予約するing profile.?

This meant they appeared as coming from the 演説(する)/住所, 'noreply@調書をとる/予約するing.com'.??

Usually, messages can only be 交流d between 顧客s and 代表者/国会議員s of hotels they have 調書をとる/予約するd on the 壇・綱領・公約.?

As travellers will often 株 接触する 詳細(に述べる)s and travel 旅程s, the messaging system is supposed to be 安全な・保証する and not accessible by third parties.

But the reader showed us a message that appeared within this 雑談(する) thread which had all the hallmarks of a scam.

It read: '調書をとる/予約するing may be 取り消すd [sic] 予定 to an unknown error if you do not follow a few simple steps. Please 立証する you reserve'

It also 含むd the booker's 十分な 指名する, and asked them to click a link to a third-party website where they could '確認する' their 調書をとる/予約するing.

The website 演説(する)/住所 was not associated with either 調書をとる/予約するing or the hotel, and seemed to be trying to rope the reader into a scam.

This could have been a phishing scam, where fraudsters get people to を引き渡す their personal 詳細(に述べる)s by 誤った means ? in this 事例/患者 by getting them to enter their 指名する, 演説(する)/住所 and bank 詳細(に述べる)s into a website which would 料金d it 直接/まっすぐに to the scammers.

They could then use this to get into the person's accounts and spend or 移転 out their money.

The website could also have been a spoof of the hotel's website which asked the booker to 移転 an 量 of money ーするために '確認する' the 調書をとる/予約するing, which would instead be sent 直接/まっすぐに to the scammers.

The website 演説(する)/住所 in question did not look 公式の/役人 and 含むd a jumble of 無作為の numbers, which is another hallmark of a scam.

Fake: Bookin
g.com says that the scammers have accessed a 'small fraction' of hotels' accounts, meaning they are able to send the messages to customers

偽の: 調書をとる/予約するing.com says that the scammers have 接近d a 'small fraction' of hotels' accounts, meaning they are able to send the messages to 顧客s?

It is important to check the 演説(する)/住所 of the website you are 存在 asked to visit, as this is often what gives the game away. This can be done by hovering over the link without clicking.??

Thankfully, the reader in this 事例/患者 spotted the scam for what it was and did not click the link.?

However, it 最高潮の場面s the 危険 to other travellers who might mistake something like this for a real 支払い(額) request.

Some hotels on the 壇・綱領・公約 only ask for 支払い(額) on or の直前に arrival, rather than in 前進する, which could make the idea of a '確定/確認' 支払い(額) seem more 合法的.?

This is Money asked 調書をとる/予約するing how this was able to happen and whether its 安全な・保証する messaging system had been 違反d.

The 会社/堅い 否定するd that the scammers had managed to infiltrate its website.?

Instead, it said the fraudsters were 的ing hotels ーするために 伸び(る) 接近 to their 調書をとる/予約するing accounts.?

This would 許す them to message 顧客s pretending to be hotel staff and then ask for 支払い(額)s.?

A 広報担当者 said: 'We were sorry to hear about the 事例/患者 of the 顧客 you brought to our attention. As we 以前 確認するd, there has not been a 安全 違反 on the 味方する of 調書をとる/予約するing.com.?

'Some of our accommodation partners have been 直接/まっすぐに 的d by very 納得させるing phishing 策略, led by professional cyber 犯罪のs, encouraging them to click on links or attachments, which in turn has resulted in malware 存在 負担d の上に their machines, and in some 事例/患者s giving unauthorised 接近 to their 調書をとる/予約するing.com account.

'This then enables these professional fraudsters to impersonate the accommodation and communicate with guests 経由で email or messages.'

What to do if YOU 位置/汚点/見つけ出す a 嫌疑者,容疑者/疑う message?

調書をとる/予約するing said that it had made 成果/努力s to try and 戦闘 the scam since it was first brought to light last year.

It also gave advice for what 顧客s should do if they 位置/汚点/見つけ出す a 怪しげな message.??

調書をとる/予約するing 広報担当者?

The 広報担当者 追加するd: 'While this was not a 違反 of 調書をとる/予約するing.com, and the actual numbers of accommodations 影響する/感情d are a small fraction of t 靴下/だます on our 壇・綱領・公約, we have made 重要な 投資s to 限界 the 衝撃, putting new 対策 in place to 保護する our 顧客s and support our partners, as the scam has 発展させるd.

'If a 顧客 ever has any 関心s about a 支払い(額) message, we encourage them to carefully check the 支払い(額) 政策 詳細(に述べる)s 輪郭(を描く)d on the 所有物/資産/財産 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる)ing page and in the 調書をとる/予約するing 確定/確認.

'顧客s can also 報告(する)/憶測 messages to us 経由で our 顧客 service team, or by clicking on '報告(する)/憶測 an 問題/発行する,' which is 含むd in the 雑談(する) 機能(する)/行事, where we also have (疑いを)晴らす 指導/手引 for 顧客s on how to 避ける 怪しげな activity.'
