王室の Mail's £5 偽の stamp 罰金s are a 冷笑的な way to make us 支払う/賃金 for its 失敗s

王室の Mail is one of this country's most iconic brands, woven indelibly into the fabric of our society.?

It (期間が)わたるs nearly 500 years, and its history has a rather nice symmetry, first 供給するing services to the public under the 統治する of King Charles I in 1635 and continuing today under Charles III.

Although 王室の Mail is no longer 明言する/公表する-owned, and the faceless 数字表示式の world 半導体素子s away remorselessly at its relevance, more than seven billion letters are 配達するd countrywide every year by its army of posties bedecked in their striking red garb. That's a lot of letters.

Many people, 特に the 年輩の, still depend upon it to 支払う/賃金 公共事業(料金)/有用性 法案s or deposit cheques into 郵便の operated 貯金 accounts.

The 配達/演説/出産s that friendly posties 減少(する) through our letter boxes may not always be welcome.?

More than 7 billion letters are still 配達するd countrywide every year by 王室の Ma il's army of posties bedecked in their striking red garb

But the thrill of receiving a physical birthday card or a 手渡す-written 公式文書,認める from a friend is something to behold (sending letters also brings its joys, as I can 確認する).

Yet let's not overdo the spoonfuls of saccharine. 王室の Mail, owned by International 配当s Services (a company 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる)d on the UK 株式市場), is far from perfect.

In some ways, it's a 法人組織の/企業の wolf in sheep's 着せる/賦与するing. Like many 私的な companies and public organisations, its (n)役員/(a)執行力のあるs live in their own cosy little world. They have lost touch with their 顧客s.

The company's 関係 with its ひどく unionised 全労働人口 is feisty (and that's 存在 polite) while its request to dumb 負かす/撃墜する the 全世界の/万国共通の 郵便の service 義務 it 作品 under ― it wants to 配達する second-class mail only three days a week ― has gone 負かす/撃墜する like a lead balloon with both the public and 政治家,政治屋s.

But the 問題/発行する that could 証明する to be its Achilles heel is 偽造の stamps. Its 試みる/企てる to を取り引きする a locust-like 群れている of 偽の stamps 疫病/悩ますing our 郵便の service ― most, 恐らく, from 中国 ― is at best ham-握りこぶしd. At worst, it's immoral.

Rather than putting all its energy into 確実にするing these 偽造のs do not enter this country ― and stamping 負かす/撃墜する on retailers who buy them ― 王室の Mail has 可決する・採択するd an approach that is as bewildering as it is outrageously 不公平な.

Bizarrely, it has decided to 効果的に leave the crooks to go about their fraudulent ways. Instead, it has chosen to 的 the 受取人s of 地位,任命する sent using 偽造の stamps ― 問題/発行するing them with £5 罰金s if they want to receive their letters.

In other words, it is going after the innocents in this multi-million-続けざまに猛撃する ゆすり in what appears to be a 冷笑的な 試みる/企てる to recoup the 広大な losses it 苦しむs from the 偽造の stamps. (For those unable to keep up with the 急に上がるing cost of stamps, a first-class stamp for a 基準 letter now costs £1.35.)

You couldn't make it up. Not even the risible tribe that recently went before Lord Sugar in TV's The 見習い工 would dream up such a crazy 解答 to a 商売/仕事 problem. This despicable 的ing of the innocents should stop NOW.

Since the start of the year, Money Mail has received a stream of correspondence from readers who have been 罰金d for receiving a letter sent using a 偽造の stamp.?

This has turned into a 激流 as the 規模 of the problem has 現れるd and more people have come out of the woodwork to 収容する/認める they have also been 罰金d.

偽のs: 偽造の stamps have always been a problem. Yet it is only since the introduction of barcoded stamps in 早期に 2022 that 王室の Mail has the true 規模 of the 問題/発行する been 明らかにする/漏らすd

偽造の stamps have always been a problem for 王室の Mail. Yet it is only since the introduction of barcoded stamps in 早期に 2022 that 王室の Mail has begun to get an idea of the true 規模 of the 問題/発行する.

The barcode sits と一緒に the stamp, separated by a ふりをするd perforation. 王室の Mail says the code links physical letters to the 数字表示式の world, 許すing it to be scanned (in time) by the 受取人 to 接近 messages such as a birthday 迎える/歓迎するing from the sender.

Yet its real 目的 appears to be to identify 詐欺. Although it is 比較して 平易な for 偽造の barcoded stamps to be produced by fraudsters, it is now much harder for 偽の stamps to escape (犯罪,病気などの)発見 ? thanks to 王室の Mail's 歳入 保護 team and its army of 詐欺 (犯罪,病気などの)発見 machines that ざっと目を通す the barcodes to see whether they are 合法的.

The result is that 偽造の stamps are STILL flooding the market, typically 存在 sold either online or 経由で websites such as eBay.

They find their way to retailers on the High Street and even 地位,任命する Office 反対するs. Since 1989, retailers have been 合法的に able to buy stamps from whom ever they prefer. So many of those buying the 偽造のs may not realise they are 偽のs and think they've 設立する a terrific price online.

Others may be aware that the 取引,協定 looks dodgy, but are willing to take the 危険 because they stand to make a 抱擁する 利益(をあげる) as 顧客s can't tell the difference at the till. The difference now is that, thanks to the barcodes, 王室の Mail is suddenly able to 得る rich rewards from this deluge of 偽のs.

It 簡単に (悪事,秘密などを)発見するs the stamps as they go through the 郵便の system and 問題/発行するs a £5 罰金 to anyone sent a letter using a 偽造の ― somethin g that was 極端に difficult before the barcodes were introduced.

Royal Mail's?request to dumb down the universal postal service obligation it works under has gone down like a lead balloon with both the public and politicians

Challenging the 罰金 is a waste of time. 王室の Mail's 返答 to 顧客s who complain is risible. While 受託するing they are not 責任がある the stamps used, it says 王室の Mail must get paid for the 郵便の service used, so the 割増し料金 is '非,不,無-refundable'.

王室の Mail then asks those 罰金d to help it 減ずる stamp 詐欺 by confidentially 報告(する)/憶測ing it.

Even when 原告,告訴人s go 支援する to 王室の Mail and say that the sender of the 感情を害する/違反するing letter bought the stamps from a 地元の 地位,任命する Office, the company is not 利益/興味d. The 罰金 still stands.

There is also growing 証拠 that some 顧客s are 存在 罰金d because of 本物の stamps 存在 wrongly identified as 偽造の by the machines it 雇うs to (悪事,秘密などを)発見する fraudulent stamps.

In 最近の weeks, に引き続いて investigative work by Money Mail, MPs from all the main 政党s have called for 王室の Mail to 一時停止する the 罰金s.

For example, Sarah Olney, 自由主義の 民主党員 MP for Richmond Park in Greater London, says it is 'ridiculous' for 王室の Mail 'to be penalising innocent people'. 絶対.

For the time 存在, 王室の Mail is content to keep 罰金ing the innocents.

Yesterday, it told Money Mail: 'The combination of new barcoded stamps with 追加するd 安全 features, the 割増し料金, and 王室の Mail 活発に working with 法律 施行 当局, has led to a 90 pc 削減 in 偽造の stamps in our 網状組織.'

The 声明 is a tacit 承認 that it's using 罰金s to try to stop an 違法な 貿易(する).

Money Mail believes the £5 罰金 should be axed, not 一時停止するd. It's wrong.

その上に, 王室の Mail should be 要求するd to 支払う/賃金 支援する the money it has taken from innocent 犠牲者s of this 偽造の スキャンダル and apologise.

Sadly, for this U-turn to happen, we need the 政府 to step up to the plate. Although Ofcom 規制するs the 郵便の service, it said yesterday that '問題/発行するs regarding the authenticity of stamps are not within the 範囲 of Ofcom's 規則, which is 始める,決める in 法律制定 by 議会.'

井戸/弁護士席, they should be.

王室の Mail's 罰金ing of the innocents is the 同等(の) of 法人組織の/企業の 強盗. 刑事 Turpin plc. It shouldn't be 許すd to get away with it any longer.

I imagine you agree.
