Questions are now 存在 raised as to how they hedged against rising prices, and how much value for money they are getting from taxpayer cash.?

How do 会議s buy energy?

The way 地元の 当局 and public 部門 団体／死体s buys energy 異なるs from how 世帯s, and even 商売／仕事s, buy energy.

This is because they buy en ergy for their own offices, but also public places like schools, libraries and swimming pools. 会議 energy spend also 含むs street and traffic lights.

会議s tend to have a degree of 柔軟性 on when they 購入（する） energy, and can often leave this to nearer the date of 供給（する） so it is more cost 効果的な, says Box 力／強力にする.

These 存在するing 枠組みs are supposed to help 会議s to navigate periods where prices rise quickly and they have 危険 誘発する／引き起こすs in place to 保護する the public purse.

However, the energy 危機 that followed Russia's 侵略 of ウクライナ共和国 in February 2022 seems to have caught some 会議s by surprise, 主要な to much higher 法案s.

Box 力／強力にする's co-創立者 and CEO Corin Dalby says: 'For the 会議s that had their energy 契約 新たにするd on 1 April of that year, then realistically they could or should have re-tendered up to 12 months earlier to enable them to 今後-hedge their Winter 2022 energy before the prices spiked.'

It means that while the 会議s might have paid a fraction of the 予報するd prices, they were 保護するd by EBRS and money from the public purse.

How much have 会議s paid for energy?

With this in mind, Box 力／強力にする CIC approached 地元の 当局 across the UK, asking them for their usage and cost 人物／姿／数字s for 2022/23.

The 人物／姿／数字s show that 会議s across the UK paid an 概算の £1billion more for energy in 2022/23 than the previous year.

A spokesperson for the 会議 said: 'We do not believe that taking our pence per 部隊 人物／姿／数字 for this 明確な／細部 period 供給するs a fair or 現実主義の comparison.?

'It was a period of high turbulence in the energy market 予定 to 全世界の factors, such as the war in ウクライナ共和国, and 必然的に some 会議s - such as those who happened to have 契約d earlier - will have been 衝撃d いっそう少なく than others but they are likely to have paid a higher 賞与金 in the period before.

'It is also 不明瞭な whether the 人物／姿／数字s 引用するd are a like-for-like comparison. The total we 引用するd was inclusive of 20 per cent 付加価値税 (which the 会議 subsequently 回復するs) and さまざまな 政府 徴収するs such as the 気候 Change 徴収する which will inflate the t otal. Until this point, there has been no （判断の）基準 for 会議s to see how they have 成し遂げるd, meaning many will be unaware of whether they have paid over the 半端物s.

Dalby says: 'We think more transparency and scrutiny is 必須の, as without it the public cannot 持つ／拘留する these public 団体／死体s that are spending their money to account.

A spokesperson said: 'These 人物／姿／数字s are 誤って導くing. The City 会社／団体 has a much wider remit than that of a 地元の 当局.

'The reality is that we have 削減（する） our 年次の 逮捕する 炭素 放出／発行s by 66 per cent and our energy 消費 by 21 per cent since 2018/19, and we use 100 per cent renewable electricity.'

Islington also paid more per kWH at 55.9p/kWH for electricity and 15.3p/kWH for gas.
