The new year will start with a rise in the price cap, energy regulator Ofgem has 確認するd, with the 普通の／平均（する） 年次の 法案 rising to £1,928 on 1 January.??

What is the 普通の／平均（する） energy 法案 now?

The typical home 現在／一般に 支払う／賃金s gas and electricity 法案s of £1,834 a year - the level of the?Ofgem price cap, which 始める，決めるs prices for more than 80 per cent of homes.

The price cap 適用するs to variable-率 energy 関税s paid by direct debit. It is based on the price paid per kWh of energy, so 変化させるs depending on how much is used.

Before 2021, the price cap was 普通は reserved for a 少数，小数派 of 世帯s - 普通は because they had fallen off the end of their cheaper 直す／買収する，八百長をするd-率 取引，協定 without switching to a new one.

What will happen to the energy price cap in 2024?

The 普通の／平均（する） price-capped energy 法案?will rise from £1,834 now to £1,928 on 1 January, an 増加する of £94. That £1,928 cost will then last until April, when Ofgem resets its price cap.

Ofgem has made no 予測s for the price cap past April 2024.

However, 専門家 energy 分析家s at Cornwall Insight have, after 予報するing price cap movements with a high degree of 正確 since 2021.

There are many providers 申し込む／申し出ing 直す／買収する，八百長をするd-率 取引，協定s to 存在するing 顧客s, many of which are cheaper than the price cap - but often only just.

Ofgem 支配するs mean providers do not need to publish the 詳細（に述べる）s of these 関税s - and so 非，不，無 do.

Price cap COULD still go up?

The Ofgem price cap could also go up next year for a couple of one-off 推論する／理由s.

Ofgem has said it is planning to put its price cap up by £16?in the period between April 2024 and March 2025, to cover 未払いの 顧客 負債s during the energy 危機. This means the 普通の／平均（する） 顧客 would 支払う／賃金 an extra £1.33 a month.
