政府 u-turn on 提案するd EPC 支配するs for 賃貸しの homes: What does it mean for landlords and tenants?

The 政府 this week scrapped 計画(する)s 目的(とする)d at 軍隊ing landlords to 昇格 the energy efficiency of their 所有物/資産/財産s.

On Wednesday, Rishi Sunak 発表するd the 政府 would '軟化する' several green 政策s, 含むing 最小限 EPC 基準s for 賃貸しの homes.

Although it had not 公式に become 法律, for years, landlords have 恐れるd these 討議するd 計画(する)s that would 強要する them to 昇格 their 賃貸しの 所有物/資産/財産s to 達成する an EPC 率ing of C by 2028.

The EPC is a 率ing 計画/陰謀 which 禁止(する)d 所有物/資産/財産s between A and G, with an A 率ing 存在 the most energy efficient and G the least e fficient.

Sunak partly 正当化するd scrapping the 政策 by 示唆するing that the 抱擁する costs of 昇格ing homes was likely to be passed on as higher rents to tenants.

He said: 'The 不確定 surrounding energy efficiency 政策 has been hugely 損失ing to the 供給(する) of rented 所有物/資産/財産s.

'Landlords are struggling to make 投資 決定/判定勝ち(する)s without a (疑いを)晴らす idea of the 政府's direction of travel.

'It is welcome that landlords will not be 要求するd to 投資する 相当な sums of money during a cost-of-living 危機 when many are themselves s truggling financially.

'However, 大臣s need to use the space they are creating to develop a 十分な 計画(する) that supports the 賃貸しの market to make the energy efficiency 改良s we all want to see.

'This must 含む appropriate 財政上の support and 改革(する) of the 税金 system which 現在/一般に fails to support 投資 in energy efficiency 対策.'

However, not everyone is pleased about this particular change in 政府 政策.
