I’ve got £140,000 I want to 投資する, do I need 財政上の advice or 財政上の planning and what’s the difference?

I’ve decided that I would like to get some help with my 財政/金融s but am not sure whether I need a 財政上の 助言者 or 財政上の planner?

I have more than £100,000 in cash 貯金 accounts and another £40,000 in 賞与金 社債s but only £25,000 投資するd in a 在庫/株s and 株 Isa and am looking for some help 投資するing it.

I also have a work 年金, which both my 雇用者 and I 支払う/賃金 into, and I’m happy with that building up in the background.

What I really want is some advice on making my 貯金 work harder ? and what 肉親,親類d of thing I should 投資する in. I’d also like to get a bit of a 計画(する) together on how to sort out my 財政/金融s, so that I can step 支援する from working 十分な-time in my 早期に to 中央の-50s (I’m about to turn 40 now).

I’ve looked at some 選択s and some places talk about 財政上の advice and others about 財政上の planning, what is the difference and what sort of help should I look for? I don’t want to 支払う/賃金 a small fortune in 料金s for stuff I could do myself once it is 始める,決める up.

Financial advisers can help you navigate the often confusing world of investment and offer specialist advice on how to manage your money

財政上の 助言者s can help you navigate the often 混乱させるing world of 投資 and 申し込む/申し出 specialist advice on how to manage your money?

Angharad Carrick of This Is Money says: 投資するing is a daunting topic if you have little 財政上の knowledge. The sheer 量 of (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) out there can be 圧倒的な.

Given the 量 you have saved, you may want to consider some form of advice or planning, whether as a one-off bit of help or on a longer 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 basis.

Often you may see the 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 財政上の 助言者 and 財政上の planner used interchangeably, but there are some differences.

財政上の 助言者s 供給する specialist advice on how to manage your money, 含むing 投資s, 年金s, 税金 planning and 保険. They tend to 焦点(を合わせる) on a singular 問題/発行する or a one-off need for help, while planners look at the bigger picture and help you 陰謀(を企てる) out a path to reach your 財政上の goals in life.

So, for example, if you 簡単に want to work out what you should do with your £140,000 and 投資する some or all of the money then 財政上の advice may be the answer, but if you want someone to help you build a 計画(する) to 達成する your life goal of stepping 支援する from 十分な-time 雇用 in your 早期に to 中央の-50s, then 財政上の planning may 権利 for you.

示す Hutchinson, 会員の地位 director of the Personal 財政/金融 Society, explains: ‘Any 規制するd 財政上の 助言者 will be able to understand your 態度 to 投資 危険 and make 推薦s accordingly.

'Where 財政上の planning can come into its own is by helping coach you to understand and 達成する your broader goals; i.e. Why do you want to retire 早期に? What will be your 計画(する)s in 退職 and how much money will you need to lead the life you want? etc.?

'Have a かかわり合い-解放する/自由な 雑談(する) with a few 助言者s and see if you think you could work together.’

Josh Butten, certified 財政上の planner and director of Boosst 財政上の replies:

A good 財政上の 助言者 will typically help you to 演説(する)/住所 a 選び出す/独身 need.

As both 財政上の planners and 助言者s are 規制するd, they 株 the same 義務 to 確実にする that their 製品 推薦s are suitable for you when it comes to 年金s and 投資s.

The 推薦s that a 財政上の 助言者 makes in the 選び出す/独身 area you are 焦点(を合わせる)d on, in this 事例/患者 投資するing some of your £140,000, will be considered and appropriate for your needs.

A good 財政上の planner will start with your same question 'What should I do with my £140,000?; but will not answer it straight away.

A 財政上の planner will be more 利益/興味d in your wider 財政/金融s, your goals, your 客観的なs and your dreams.

They will ask you questions about your life 旅行 - like 'how did you get to here?', 'what is most important to you and your family?' and 'what do you want to 達成する, to feel you have lived a 広大な/多数の/重要な life?'.

These questions can いつかs be unsettling or 予期しない… 特に when you just 手配中の,お尋ね者 投資 advice!

The 目的 of those 追加するd questions is to really get to know you and understand you.

When it comes to the end 推薦 of 製品s, 危険 and 大臣の地位s - a 財政上の 助言者 will typically give the same 推薦 to 10 people who each want to 投資する £140,000.?

A 財政上の planner is やめる likely to give the 10 different 投資家s 10 different 解答s, having built a more 詳細(に述べる)d understanding of what they want to 達成する.

What should I 推定する/予想する???

Josh Butten replies: A 財政上の planner typically does three things:

Part 1: 探検の/予備の conversations, to discover and learn more about you, your family, your goals and dreams. They will ask open-ended questions, encourage you to think hard and self 反映する, and listen to your honest answers.

Part 2: 建設する a 財政上の 計画(する) using ソフトウェア which builds a cash flow 発射/推定 of your life. This enables you to build a 深い understanding of your 財政/金融s today, and the 財政上の position you are on-跡をつける for in the 未来.?

They will 追加する their own advice to the planning, having listened to your 客観的なs and dreams in part 1. A 重要な 利益 of 財政上の Planning is understanding the 衝撃 of your important 決定/判定勝ち(する)s before you commit to them; such as moving home, helping children through university and deciding when you can stop working.

Part 3: 文書ing and 株ing 規制するd advice to 改善する your 財政上の position. This is often relating to 年金 or 投資s but can also 含む advice on personal 保険s, such as 批判的な illness and 私的な 医療の.

The 重要な difference is that a 財政上の 助言者 will 焦点(を合わせる) on part 3 ‘供給するing the 規制するd advice’ and doesn’t lead with parts 1 or 2.

How do you 位置/汚点/見つけ出す the difference?

Josh Butten replies: We need to 演説(する)/住所 an elephant in the room. 100% of 財政上の planners 述べる themselves as 財政上の planners.

However, a 部分 of 財政上の 助言者s also 述べる themselves as 財政上の planners - and it is very hard for a 消費者 to know the difference until you are in the room and starting on the 旅行.

Angharad Carrick, This Is Money, says: There are two types of 助言者s - 独立した・無所属 and 制限するd - and both must be 登録(する)d with the regulator, the 財政上の 行為/行う 当局.

独立した・無所属 財政上の 助言者s, or IFAs, will 申し込む/申し出 advice on a 範囲 of 投資 製品s based on your シナリオ.

A 制限するd service, like that 申し込む/申し出d by St James’s Place or Quilter, may only use their own 投資s to create your 大臣の地位, or those from a パネル盤 of providers.

To check if an 助言者 is authorised by the 財政上の 行為/行う 当局 you can check its 登録(する), and you should also look at its 警告 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる) to make sure there are no red 旗s against their 指名する.

If you are looking for a planner you can use the CISI’s Wayfinder 道具 to find an 信じる/認定/派遣するd 財政上の Planning 会社/堅い (APFP) and identify a planner who has passed the Certified 財政上の P lanner (CFP) certification.

You should 公式文書,認める that both 助言者s and planners 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金 料金s.

Planners tend not to 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金 for 探検の/予備の 自然保護s but will typically 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金 a 直す/買収する,八百長をするd 料金 between £1,000 and £3,000 to build a 財政上の 計画(する), which builds a cashflow 発射/推定 of your life.

助言者s do not 請け負う either of these steps, instead 焦点(を合わせる)ing on 供給するing 規制するd advice.

Costs for 助言者s tend to be between 0.5 per cent and 1 per cent of sums 投資するd, which must be 追加するd to? the 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金s of the 基金s in your 大臣の地位.

Should you get an 助言者 or planner?

Josh Butten replies: If you 簡単に 捜し出す to arrange an 投資, it is 絶対 possible to self-teach the basics and navigate the 投資 world without 支払う/賃金ing for professional 指導/手引.?

There are more 選択s 利用できる for this today than there ever have been and many 壇・綱領・公約s and self-貿易(する) 仲買人s would love to arrange your 投資 - without needing advice.

If you want to have the 安心 that comes from 支払う/賃金ing a professional to do a professional 職業 of 設立するing an 投資 for you, i.e. considering the 危険s, building a 大臣の地位, considering 税金 wrappers and giving you 現在進行中の 指導/手引 on rebalances and 維持/整備 - a 財政上の 助言者 is a good 選択.

If you prefer to 計画(する) for the long 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 - with the 利益 of an unbiased financially-qualified friend と一緒に you - who understands your goals and dreams… then a 財政上の planner is the best 選択.?
