This Is Money's 商売/仕事 doctor Dave Fishwick?

I opened a small caf? before the pandemic and I have struggled as the price of raw 構成要素s and my energy 法案s rose 大幅に.?

I also gave my staff a small 支払う/賃金 rise to help with the cost of living 危機, meaning costs went up for 顧客s.?

I have been very lucky that my 顧客s have remained loyal.?

Now that costs are 落ちるing and I am feeling more comfortable with my 底(に届く) line, I am considering cutting costs to pre-pandemic levels.

Is this a good idea to say thank you to my 顧客s??

Or have they got used to the 現在の price point and I should instead give my staff another 支払う/賃金 rise?

Dave Fishwick, This is Money 商売/仕事 doctor, replies: We have all seen on the news and in the shops tha t food prices have risen like a ロケット/急騰する.?

インフレーション has been running at 二塁打-digit 百分率s for the last couple of years.?

Some 製品s have been 影響する/感情d more than others - for example, one of the worst 影響する/感情d, sugar, is up more than 40 per cent in the previous year alone.

Even if price インフレーション fell to 無 for the next couple of years, unless there is デフレ, prices will still be 大幅に above where they were before the pandemic.?

If you 減ずる your prices to pre-pandemic levels, you'll make かなり いっそう少なく 利益(をあげる) 利ざや than before the pandemic.

I don't think most 顧客s would 推定する/予想する prices to return to pre-pandemic levels, 特に in the food 産業.

While 商売/仕事 might be good at the moment, you can't ask for any 利益(をあげる)s you forgo 支援する if times get tougher again soon.?インフレーション remains stubbornly high and might go up again before it 落ちるs 支援する.?

Also, when autumn arrives, your energy 法案s will become a more 重要な part of your 去っていく/社交的なs again. Energy companies are already 警告 of price 増加するs this winter.

I have helped many cafes with 商売/仕事 貸付金s and advice over the years, and 全体にわたる I would advise you not to 減少(する) prices, as rents and costs will fluctuate and go 支援する up.?

Maybe, you could build up a cash 衝撃を和らげるもの, and when costs rise again, you can afford to ride out the 嵐/襲撃する.

I imagine you'll know who's struggling with money by what they order. Some 顧客s may have felt the 増加するs, 反して others may have hardly noticed.?

Perhaps you could pass on more of the extra costs to those who can afford them by having higher 利ざやs on the 製品s for which people are used to 支払う/賃金ing higher prices, like cappuccinos and croissants.?

Keeping the cheaper items on the menu, like tea and toast, 定価つきの as low as possible could help those who need it the most.?

Perhaps you could do 解放する/自由な refills for tea and coffee, with special meal 取引,協定s.?

You could also have 割引d prices for pensioners and do an 早期に bird menu and pensioner specials. This would 増加する 商売/仕事 in your quieter times and 増加する 利益(をあげる)s 全体にわたる.

It's good to look after your staff, and maybe it is time to give them a 支払う/賃金 rise, if they 港/避難所't had one recently.?

I believe in looking after staff and 扱う/治療するing them how you would want to be 扱う/治療するd if the shoe was on the other foot.?

You could reward staff with pre-holiday or Christmas 特別手当s rather than 増加する their salary. This way, your 現在進行中の 直す/買収する,八百長をするd 総計費s stay the same.

Good lu ck.
