Can I 溝へはまらせる/不時着する my useless 財政上の 助言者...? A money 専門家 explains how to 交渉する a break-up if you 支払う/賃金 chunky 料金s every year for bad service

A few years ago I 雇うd a 財政上の 助言者 to 強固にする/合併する/制圧する all my company 年金s, and my personal 年金, into one 年金.

They advised I get a 計画(する) with a big, 井戸/弁護士席-known 年金 会社/堅い.

Since 調印 up for the 計画(する), I now 支払う/賃金 a 百分率 of the value in 料金s to the 財政上の 助言者 each year and I don't feel I'm getting value for money.

基本的に I have an 年次の review where they advise not to do anything with the 年金.

Do I have to have a 財政上の 助言者 or am I 許すd to manage my 年金 myself?

Tanya Jefferies, of This is Money, replies: We often receive questions from readers who g ot good service from a 財政上の 助言者 when they 始める,決める up a 年金 協定, but don't want to carry on 支払う/賃金ing chunky 年次の 料金s in 交流 for little to nothing for the 残り/休憩(する) of their lives.

助言者s can usually 正当化する their 初期の 料金s for 始める,決める-up work, 特に when someone retires and wants a suitable 投資 大臣の地位 and income drawdown 計画(する) created from scratch.

But they should work to keep your 商売/仕事 and keep 供給するing value for money and personal help if they 推定する/予想する to keep 非難する an 現在進行中の 百分率 of your 年金 for many years to come. Our 年金s columnist, Steve Webb, 以前 gave advice on this topic to a reader here.

There are プロの/賛成のs and 反対/詐欺s to getting 初期の 財政上の advice about a 年金 - when 率直に, it can be invaluable, 特に in?dodging unknown 落し穴s - then looking after your own 投資s from then on.

You need to 重さを計る this carefully, because a good 助言者 should keep you up to date on important changes to 法律制定, 投資 危険s, how much income to take, 税金 支配するs and so on, all of which will change over time.

But if you think you might want help only at the 手始め, or to walk away at some point in the 未来, or to switch to another 助言者, it is best to 避ける a 非常に長い 契約 with a 財政上の advice 会社/堅い, or placing your 年金 マリファナ in their tied, or white-labelled, in-house 投資 基金s and 壇・綱領・公約s.

Instead, try to find a 会社/堅い which will use 基金s and an 投資するing 壇・綱領・公約 that are readily 利用できる to all DIY 顧客s, and to other 助言者s 同様に in 事例/患者 you decide to switch later on.

To answer your question, and explain how to leave your 財政上の 助言者 友好的に if you wish to do so, we asked 影響力のある 産業 退役軍人 Henry Tapper to 答える/応じる below.

Henry Tapper is a 財政上の 助言者 and 創立者 of the 年金 Playpen professional 網状組織 and AgeWage, which 分析 the value for money of 年金s. He replies:

Marriages usually start 井戸/弁護士席 but いつかs end 不正に.

People are often impressed by first 会合s with 財政上の 助言者s only to find the 現在進行中の 関係 doesn't work out. This sounds like what's happened here.

There's nothing wrong with 非難する 料金s from your マリファナ, but 助言者s are 要求するd to 申し込む/申し出 fair value and their regulator (the 財政上の 行為/行う 当局) is 現在/一般に 調査/捜査するing the value of this advice.

(a)忠告の/(n)警報 料金s are 'bundled' into 管理/経営 costs and によれば 財政上の services 会社/堅い EY, you can 推定する/予想する to 支払う/賃金 a total 料金 of 2 per cent to 3.5 per cent for 投資 and advice.

That means £2,000 to £3,500 each year for every £100,000 in the 年金 マリファナ.

This can 厳しく 制限する the 量 you draw as an income and 減ずる the growth if you're rolling your マリファナ up.

You may 結論する that you are not getting value for your money and decide to end your 関係 with your 助言者. But walking away can be daunting.

Many people took 財政上の advice to 連合させる マリファナs (as happened here).

This is sensible and if your マリファナs have 保証(人)s in them, advice may be compulsory. But once that advice is paid for, there's no 現在進行中の 必要物/必要条件 to take or 支払う/賃金 for 現在進行中の advice.

Many people stay with an 助言者 because they feel they are 罠にかける ? they shouldn't.

But you are bound by the 条件 of your 契約, even if that means having to 支払う/賃金 to walk away.

Some 契約s, such as those with St James's Place, have walk-away 刑罰,罰則s for up to six years and most 要求する a 確かな 量 of notice. (SJP has very high 顧客 satisfaction ratings, so 出口 刑罰,罰則s do not やむを得ず mean bad service.)

If you have bad service and an 出口 刑罰,罰則; you can 控訴,上告 to the 財政上の Ombudsman though you should 交渉する with your 助言者 and exhaust their (民事の)告訴s 過程 before you do.

Some people don't feel 権力を与えるd to walk away and here I can help with a four-point 計画(する).

Four steps to part ways with your 財政上の 助言者?

1. Review your 契約 and follow the advice above.

2. Decide what you're going to do next. Don't cash in your 年金 マリファナ like a muppet ? have your next steps in place before giving notice.

3. Make sure you have a copy of your 投資 記録,記録的な/記録するs. 論争s shouldn't happen, but make sure you have all 予定 (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状).

4. 発表する your 意向 cleanly and 公正に/かなり. The end of your 関係 need not be acrimonious. I find a simple factual approach easiest. Here's a template.

I have decided that I no longer want your advice on my 年金 money and wish to 辞職する my 契約 from xx/mm/yy.

I 高く評価する/(相場などが)上がる the work you have done for me, but I consider that there are better 選択s 利用できる to me どこかよそで.

I will send you 指示/教授/教育s on where I want the proceeds of my 投資s through your office to 移転.

I would be 感謝する if you would 認める this letter. I thank you in 前進する for your co-操作/手術.

As with a matrimonial 離婚, the hardest of the four steps may be working out what to do next.

You may want to move to another 助言者, or you may prefer to manage your 事件/事情/状勢s yourself (you'll be seen as '非,不,無-advised'). This means you have いっそう少なく 保護 if things go wrong but lower 料金s.

Most of the '非,不,無-advised' Self-投資するd Personal 年金s (Sipps) 申し込む/申し出 料金s 井戸/弁護士席 below 1 per cent a year and some a fraction of that. 主要な providers 含む Fidelity, Hargreaves Lansdown, AJ Bell, Interactive 投資家 and PensionBee. You can search out many more.

This may be a good time to look at 代案/選択肢s to drawdown, and you might want to talk to an annuity 仲買人 to lock into 保証(人)d 率s.

You'll get help in moving your money to a new Sipp.

?Make sure that your personal 詳細(に述べる)s are 記録,記録的な/記録するd 正確に by your new Sipp 会社/堅い and your 存在するing provider to 避ける 延期するs. This should take between one and 10 weeks.

If you are moving to another 助言者, you should 推定する/予想する their help in managing the 危険s of 存在 out of the market and of overpaying transactio n 料金s.

There are costs of leaving a 財政上の 助言者 and of moving money so be sure before you 令状 that letter. It is better to mend a marriage than break one.
