The 所有物/資産/財産 price にわか景気 over 最近の 10年間s 連合させるd with frozen thresholds is dragging more families into the 相続物件 税金 逮捕する, and the 政府 is raking in ever bigger sums as a result.

The Office for 予算 責任/義務 予測(する) last month that 相続物件 税金 領収書s will r each £9.7 billion a year in 2028/29.

にもかかわらず rumours the 政府 planned to 緩和する the 重荷(を負わせる) of the 議論の的になる 税金, it failed to 発表する changes in the Autumn 声明 or Spring 予算, and 提案s are now 推定する/予想するd to be 明らかにする/漏らすd in its 選挙 manifesto.

Only the richest 4 per cent of families 支払う/賃金 相続物件 税金, which is 40 per cent on any 資産s over the threshold of £325,000, or £500,000 if you are leaving a 所有物/資産/財産 to your direct 子孫s.

The 基準 nil 率 禁止(する)d for 相続物件 税金 is £325,000 but couples who are homeowners can leave an extra £175,000 each of 所有物/資産/財産 wealth from their main 住居 to children and grandchildren. This creates a 最大限 total IHT-解放する/自由な 量 of £1million for a married couple with direct descendents.

The 学校/設ける for 会計の 熟考する/考慮するs recently 概算の that the number of 広い地所s liable for 相続物件 税金 will rise to more than 7 per cent by 2032-33. Last week, the IFS called for an 相続物件 税金 (警察の)手入れ,急襲 on unspent 年金 マリファナs?and other (法などの)抜け穴s, with the 基金s used to lower the 全体にわたる 税金 率.

?How much is 相続物件 税金 and who 支払う/賃金s?

You need to be 価値(がある) £325,000 if you are 選び出す/独身, or £650,000 共同で if you are married or in a civil 共同, for your loved ones to have to stump up death 義務s.

This threshold is known as the 'nil 率 禁止(する)d'.

But there is a その上の chunky allowance which 増加するs the threshold to a 共同の £1million if you have a partner, own a 所有物/資産/財産, and ーするつもりである to leave money to your direct 子孫s.

This is called the '住居 nil 率 禁止(する)d'.

Once an 広い地所 reaches £2million this own home allowance starts 存在 除去するd by £1 for every £2 above this threshold. It 消えるs 完全に by £2.3million.

If you are 価値(がある) more than this, your 受益者s will have to を引き渡す 40 per cent of your 資産s above those levels to the 政府.

How might the 政府 改革(する) 相続物件 税金??

1. Raise the threshold: The £325,000 nil 率 禁止(する)d has been frozen for many years and the extra £175,000 per person headroom for those leaving 所有物/資産/財産 to direct 子孫s was introduced by former Tory (ドイツなどの)首相/(大学の)学長 George Osborne.

One 選択 could be to get rid of the 複雑にするd 所有物/資産/財産 支配するs and 簡単に raise the nil 率 禁止(する)d to £500,000, or £1million for married couples, for everyone.

2. 削減(する) the 40% 率: A 削減 in the headline 率 or a new tiered system or 事情に応じて変わる 規模 might be under consideration.

3. 廃止する it 完全な: This is likely to be unaffordable, and given tight 財政/金融s seen as too big a handout to wealthier families, but the Tories might 約束 to move に向かって this 的 in the longer 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語.

4. Change gifting 支配するs: These are 複雑にするd as they stand and the 年次の £3,000 税金 解放する/自由な allowance hasn’t changed since 1981. インフレーション has been 270 per cent since then. The 政府's 独立した・無所属 税金 gurus 示唆するd 改革(する)ing 複雑にするd 相続物件 税金 gifting 支配するs four years ago but no 活動/戦闘 was taken.

Get your 広い地所 valued if you might be liable

Those who may be liable for 相続物件 税金 should look into 税金 planning as soon as possible, if they want to 避ける their loved ones 支払う/賃金ing it.?

'The prospect of a 総選挙 ぼんやり現れるs large with one 推定する/予想するd to be held in the second half of the year and it is likely that 税金 削減(する)s and the economy will feature prominently in the coming months,' say Stephen Lowe, a director at Just Group.

'We are already seeing public discussion about whether 確かな 税金 救済s should be scrapped to make the ways wealth can be passed 負かす/撃墜する between 世代s fairer, and we 推定する/予想する this to continue as we get closer to the 選挙.

'Even without any changes to IHT, the OBR 予報するs the 税金 will continue to raise even more for the (ドイツなどの)首相/(大学の)学長 of the 国庫, and we encourage people to check if they may get caught by the 税金.

'A good way to start is to 査定する/(税金などを)課す the entire value of their 広い地所, 含むing an up-to-date valuation of their 所有物/資産/財産.

'Professional, 規制するd advice can help people work out the total value of their 広い地所, calculate how much 税金 they may be likely to 借りがある and understand what 選択s they have to manage their 可能性のある 税金 義務/負債.'

A rising number of middle income families now 直面する hefty 税金 法案s

'にもかかわらず かなりの 憶測 that the 政府 would look to 制定する 相続物件 税制改革 during the last year, so far all has remained 静かな on this 前線 and this morning’s 人物/姿/数字s illustrate 正確に/まさに why the (ドイツなどの)首相/(大学の)学長 would have been keen to leave it 井戸/弁護士席 alone,' says Rachael Griffin, 税金 and 財政上の planning 専門家 at Quilter.

'This 重要な 増加する has reignited discussions about the fairness and structure of the IHT system, 特に given an 増加するing number of middle income families now 直面する hefty 税金 法案s thanks to the 政府’s 延長するd IHT threshold 凍結する.

'The lowering of the headline 率 of 相続物件 税金 from 40 per cent would undoubtedly be met with 是認 from 核心 Tory 投票者s. However, more 広範囲にわたって, it would likely 証明する 人気がない given it would 利益 the rich at a time when so many across the nation continue to struggle with the cost of living.

'The 住居 Nil 率 禁止(する)d, while 井戸/弁護士席-意向d, is 示すd by its 複雑さ and often 除外するs a 重要な demographic, 特に the rising number of childless 年輩の.

'A more equitable and 簡単にするd 相続物件 税金 system 伴う/関わるing raising the nil 率 禁止(する)d to £500,000 would not only be fairer but more reflective of the changing demographics and societal structures of this country.'

現在の 支配するs penalise childless and unmarried people

'This month 示すs 15 years since the 相続物件 税金 nil 率 禁止(する)d was last 増加するd,' says Alastair 黒人/ボイコット, 長,率いる of 貯金 政策 at Abrdn.

'This 凍結する, 連合させるd with rising 資産 values, means that the 税金 is 影響する/感情ing more and more people than it was ever ーするつもりであるd to 逮捕(する).

'As 演説(する)/住所ing the 税金’s 範囲, we should also take the 適切な時期 to 簡単にする it. One way to 達成する this would be to 除去する the 住居 nil 率 禁止(する)d and 増加する the 基準 nil 率 禁止(する)d.

'This would create a more 簡素化するd 政権, and encourage more people to engage with 広い地所 planning ? helping wealth move more 自由に between the 世代s, which in turn could bring 重要な 利益s to the economy and those under 財政上の 圧力 まっただ中に the 現在進行中の cost of living 危機.

'It would also no longer penalise those without children, and who aren’t married or in a civil 共同, creating a more equal 税金 system.'

Struggling children an d grandchildren will foot the 相続物件 税金 法案

'This 記録,記録的な/記録する 相続物件 税金 運ぶ/漁獲高 for the 財務省 is hardly surprising given the やめる purposeful 氷点の of the 税金-解放する/自由な allowance since as far 支援する as 2009', says Laura Hayward, 税金 partner at Evelyn Partners.

'The 普通の/平均(する) UK house price alone has 増加するd by だいたい 82.7 per cent since then.

'With no end to the 凍結する in nil-率 禁止(する)d in sight there will be an escalation in 相続物件 税金 義務/負債s, if 支配するs remain the same - not least because there is a 大規模な 移転 of wealth in the 沖 in the next couple of 10年間s.

'研究 shows that the older 世代s have as much as £2.6trillion of 公正,普通株主権 tied up in their homes, which the next 世代 or the one after are 始める,決める to 相続する.

'It isn’t the いわゆる boomer 世代, 豊富な or さもなければ, who will foot the 相続物件 税金 法案 on their 広い地所s ? it’s their 潜在的に struggling children and grandchildren who could be parted from a big chunk of the hard-earned family 貯金.

'Any 未来 政府 tempted to fill gaps in the public 財政/金融s by 増加するing the 相続物件 税金 重荷(を負わせる) その上の will have to reckon with the 深い-seated aversion that most 世帯s have に向かって the 課税 of death 義務s.'
