There's no 支配する to stop banks 支払う/賃金ing awful 率s: SYLVIA MORRIS 指名するs the worst 違反者/犯罪者s
Think you're a savvy saver? Then beware. It's often those who think they're getting the best 取引,協定s who 結局最後にはーなる with some of the worst.
Take, for example, the thousands of savers who nabbed the 最高の,を越す- 支払う/賃金ing 平易な-接近 Isa from Santander last year.?
While they've enjoyed a 率 of 3.2 per cent, if they don't move their money before the 初期の one-year 取引,協定 is up, they will see it 減少(する) to a dismal 1.2 per cent.
That is because Santander automatically moves your money from this 最高の,を越す account into its Isa Saver, an old account which is no longer on general sale ― and which no 権利-minded saver would willingly choose.
I had high hopes this would change when new 消費者 義務 支配するs were introduced by the 財政上の 行為/行う 当局 (FCA) last year.?
率 削減(する): Savers who nabbed the 最高の,を越す-支払う/賃金ing 平易な-接近 Isa from Santander last year enjoyed a 率 of 3.2%, but after one year it 減少(する)s to a dismal 1.2%
I would have thought these 規則s, which 要求する 財政上の services companies to 確実にする good 結果s for 顧客s, would have stopped 貯金 providers from 支払う/賃金ing terrible 率s on old 貯金 accounts no longer on sale while there are better 率s on new ones.
Banks and building societies were given 12 months to 適用する 消費者 義務 支配するs to their old 貯金 accounts. But I don't 持つ/拘留する out much hope that 率s will 改善する 大いに by July.
Yesterday, the FCA 開始する,打ち上げるd a £600,000 (選挙などの)運動をする to encourage savers to shop arounnd ― placing responsbility 堅固に on savers to get a good 取引,協定.
And when I asked the FCA if it would 要求する 貯金 providers to 改善する 率s on old accounts, it said no.?
It pointed me to a hidden section of its 支配する 調書をとる/予約する, catchily 肩書を与えるd Finalised 指導/手引 For 会社/堅いs On 消費者 義務.
In (FG22/5) paragraph 3.22, it says: 'We do not 推定する/予想する 会社/堅いs to move all 存在するing 顧客s on to the 最新の 見解/翻訳/版 of a 契約, or to standardise pricing models for all 遺産/遺物 商売/仕事.?
会社/堅いs should review each 製品 or service on its own 長所s and 演説(する)/住所 any 問題/発行するs they find.?
For example, we do not 推定する/予想する all 遺産/遺物 deposit accounts to 申し込む/申し出 the same 利益/興味 率; instead, 会社/堅いs should check that the 利益/興味 率 供給するs fair value in the 状況 of each 製品.'
The FCA says it isn't a price regulator, so it won't tell providers what they should 支払う/賃金 savers.
Some big banks have been working to 従う with the new 支配するs ― but still 支払う/賃金 lousy 率s. For example, NatWest has moved all its savers in its old Instant Saver account into its 柔軟な Saver 平易な-接近 account, which is 現在/一般に on sale.?
But, you still earn the same low 率, starting at 1.75 per cent on balances up to £25,000.
The best 平易な-接近 accounts 支払う/賃金 around 5 per cent. Barclays has no old 平易な-接近 accounts, but 支払う/賃金s a lousy 率 at 1.65 per cent at best on its Everyday Saver account.
Santander, Halifax and Lloyds still 申し込む/申し出 new accounts with 最高の,を越す 率s that only last for a year. Then your money is 捨てるd in an old account with dreadful 率s.
Halifax has a 特別手当 Saver, an ordinary 平易な-接近 account, which 支払う/賃金s 4.1 per cent if you make no more than three 撤退s in a year.?
But, after 12 months, you 結局最後にはーなる in its off-sale Instant Saver, which 支払う/賃金s 1.45 per cent.
Halifax has other の近くにd accounts 支払う/賃金ing even いっそう少なく: just 1.3 per cent in the misnamed 特別手当 Gold and Extra Income Saver.?
Lloyds 申し込む/申し出s a 旗艦 4 per cent Club Lloyds Advantage Saver for a year, before moving you to its の近くにd 基準 Saver, where 率s start at 1.4 per cent.?
It also has の近くにd accounts such as its 柔軟な Saver, Online Saver, Platinum Saver and 首相 Saver, 支払う/賃金ing between 1.4 per cent and 1.9 per cent depending on your balance.
Virgin Money's old E-Saver and 平易な 接近 E-Saver accounts 支払う/賃金 a disgraceful 0.25 per cent. Its の近くにd 二塁打 Take account, which 許すd two 撤退s a year, now 支払う/賃金s just 0.35 per cent.?
Its newer Defined 接近 E-Saver, which 許すs you to make three 撤退s a year, 支払う/賃金s 5.11 per cent on 問題/発行する 21. But some older 問題/発行するs of the same account 支払う/賃金 just 1.75 per cent.
