I want to open a shop but 商売/仕事 率s worry me - what should I do? DAVE FISHWICK replies

During the pandemic, I started a 商売/仕事 selling handmade 扱う/治療するs online.

Sales have gone from strength-to-strength to the point that I'm の近くに to running out of space at home to keep up with 需要・要求する.

Ideally, I'd open a shop with room out 支援する to 規模-up. However, given how I've grown the 商売/仕事 online, costs of having a physical shop - すなわち, 商売/仕事 率s - worry me.

It would be 広大な/多数の/重要な to give it a go for a year to find out if it's viable, but am struggling to see if there are any 認めるs, help or support for such a 投機・賭ける. What should I do?

Scale up: I want to open a shop but I'm worried about the costs involved, what should I do?

規模 up: I want to open a shop but I'm worried about the costs 伴う/関わるd, what should I do?

Dave Fishwick, This is Money's 商売/仕事 doctor, replies: The pandemic was 残虐な, and many 商売/仕事s had to work extra hard and needed to adapt, adjust and 打ち勝つ to 生き残る.?

It also 証明するd to be an excellent time to start some companies, 特に those 供給するing goods and services online, as social distancing and home working 加速するd the 傾向 に向かって online 小売.

Your idea 設立する enough 顧客s, and no wonder during lockdowns -? who wouldn't want the 時折の 扱う/治療する when stuck inside for so long?

It's 広大な/多数の/重要な to hear that your 商売/仕事 栄えるs and sales 港/避難所't slowed as people return to normality.

It's a natural progression to grow a young 商売/仕事. However, you're 権利 to be 用心深い about 増加するing your 直す/買収する,八百長をするd 総計費s.?

You don't want to go from a small but profitable 企業 to a bigger one which struggles to break even and working longer hours to earn いっそう少なく than you do now.?

You must be 確信して that taking on the extra 総計費s will 生成する more than enough 利益(をあげる) to cover the extra costs. Remember: turnover is vanity and 利益(をあげる) is sanity.

Smaller 商売/仕事 前提s with a rateable value of under £12,000 qualify for 100 per cent 商売/仕事 率s 救済, with 次第に減少するd 救済 up to a rateable value of £15,000.?

With larger 前提s though, your 商売/仕事 率s 増加する 意味ありげに, 与える/捧げるing to the 増加するing number of empty shops in towns and cities 全国的な.

Unlike 居住の 所有物/資産/財産s, most 商業の 賃貸し(する)s are at least 3 to 5 years and usually 要求する you to 持続する the 所有物/資産/財産 at your own expense, so trying it out for one year may not be possible.?

However, if a 前提s has been empty for some time, you may be able to 説得する the landlord to 申し込む/申し出 you a tenancy at will, where you're not tied into the 所有物/資産/財産 for a long 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語.

同様に as rent and 率s, there are also a lot of other 付加 costs when you open 商売/仕事 前提s.?

For example, 保険, staff costs and 公共事業(料金)/有用性s, to 指名する but a few. You'll need to adapt and 用意する the building to your specifications before you open, which can be very expensive for a catering 商売/仕事.

If you have space to 拡大する your 商売/仕事 while still working from home, you may be able to remain more profitable than with 商業の 前提s.?

If you or a family member has a garage that isn't used much, you could consider 変えるing that instead. Perhaps also consider an 中間の step before taking the 急落(する),激減(する) into 直す/買収する,八百長をするd 前提s, like selling your 製品s at food fairs and markets.

All that said, I wouldn't discourage you from 開始 a shop. It 作品 for many 商売/仕事s, just make sure you're fully aware of all the costs 伴う/関わるd.

I recommend you 接触する your 地元の 会議 and ask for the 商売/仕事 Growth 中心 department - there are thirty-seven across the country.?

Ask to speak to their 経済成長 officer who will help you with everything from 商売/仕事 planning to finding 財政/金融, help with your accounts, and marketing and most importantly in your particular 事例/患者, help with 拡大 計画(する)s!?

上げる Growth 中心s can help you 達成する your goals at whatever 行う/開催する/段階 of your 商売/仕事 旅行. There are 認めるs 利用できる to small and new 商売/仕事s.?

However, you do need to 満足させる 明確な/細部 基準 or be based in a particular area to qualify.?

I have just seen a hundred thousand 続けざまに猛撃する 認める given to a 地元の 製造業の 商売/仕事 in Pendle Lancashire.

I do encourage people to think big.?

However in 商売/仕事, it is better to be 概略で 権利 than 正確に wrong, and I think that you're not in a bad position at the moment if you're struggling to keep up with 需要・要求する and you're making a decent 利益(をあげる); many 商売/仕事s would like to be in that position.

Whichever direction you choose, I wish you and your 商売/仕事 all the best for the 未来.
