Crowdfunding, 投機・賭ける 資本/首都, angel 投資するing? How to work out the best way to raise money for your 商売/仕事 idea

Crowdfunding, 投機・賭ける 資本/首都, angel 投資するing - there seem to be so many different ways to get 基金ing for my 商売/仕事.?

Which one is best and are there any downsides to letting other people own a 株 of my company?

Helping hand? If you want to expand, you'll probably need to think about outside investment

Helping 手渡す? If you want to 拡大する, you'll probably need to think about outside 投資

Eleanor Lawrie of This is Money replies:?You could feel like a kid in a 甘い shop when it comes to the different forms of 投資 on 申し込む/申し出 for your small 商売/仕事.?

But while the 申し込む/申し出 of '解放する/自由な money' may sound tempting, it's important not to 捜し出す outside 基金ing too quickly, get into anything you don't understand, or give away more of your 商売/仕事 than you want to.?

Here we look at how to choose the 権利 time to look for an 外部の 支援者, the different forms 基金ing can take - and how to 首尾よく pitch to 投資家s.?

When is the 権利 time to look for outside 投資?

While many small 商売/仕事s would like to take their time 拡大するing, ?it's important to be 柔軟な ーするために take advantage of 適切な時期s as they arise.?

Bivek Sharma, 長,率いる of small 商売/仕事 accounting at KPMG, says:?'Slow, 有機の growth can be 控訴,上告ing, 特に compared to the 代案/選択肢 of taking on 負債 or g iving up 公正,普通株主権, but 競争 複雑にするs the picture.

'If competitors 安全な・保証する cash 注射s and 投資する in talent, 科学(工学)技術 or 構成要素s that put them in a better position to jump on new 商売/仕事 適切な時期s, they can quickly eat into the 領土 of the more 用心深い.

'For most young 商売/仕事s, the reality of growth 適切な時期s is that they are often 急速な/放蕩な and erratic, not slow and 安定した. In these moments, outside 投資 一連の会議、交渉/完成するs can be a 広大な/多数の/重要な 資産.'

If your 商売/仕事 is keen to grow and is 本気で considering outside 投資, there are a few questions to ask first:

Time to expand? Taking on funding could help to buy a new premises?

Time to 拡大する? Taking on 基金ing could help to buy a new 前提s?

Why do I need outside 基金ing?

Sharma says: '存在 (疑いを)晴らす in your own mind about 正確に/まさに why you need extra 資本/首都 can give you a 広大な/多数の/重要な steer on which 基金ing 大勝する will bes t 控訴 your 商売/仕事.

'For example, a start-up may need seed 基金ing to help 設立する their 概念, before going for a larger 一連の会議、交渉/完成する when looking to 規模-up.?

'設立するd 商売/仕事s may need 投資 that is 焦点(を合わせる)d on 規模ing, whether that's for 付加 staff, 器具/備品 or new 科学(工学)技術.'

How much should I ask for??

Once you know how you would put the money to work, you can start to calculate a good 量 to ask for.?

Sharma says: 'Having an appropriate 人物/姿/数字 in mind is important when approaching 投資家s. Ask for too little and you may need to 生成する その上の 一連の会議、交渉/完成するs of 基金ing, which can 損失 the 商売/仕事’s 信用性.?

'適用する for too much and you run the 危険 of 存在 turned 負かす/撃墜する or out-pricing 可能性のある 未来 支援者s.'

Which type of 基金ing is 権利 for my needs?

基金ing 選択s have 増加するd exponentially in the past few years, and it's 価値(がある) taking time to consider which 大勝する would 控訴 your 商売/仕事 best.?These can really 異なる ーに関して/ーの点でs of the 量 on 申し込む/申し出, the 速度(を上げる) of the 過程 and the strings 大(公)使館員d.

SMEs need to consider what they are 用意が出来ている to give in 交流 for a cash 注射, whether that's 支払う/賃金ing 利益/興味 on a 貸付金, or giving away 公正,普通株主権 in the 商売/仕事.

Bivek says: 'My adv ice is to ignore the hype and 焦点(を合わせる) on your own needs and goals. Just because some 商売/仕事s raise millions through crowdfunding doesn’t mean it’s 権利 for everyone. Consider every 選択 and whittle them 負かす/撃墜する.'?

Creating a connection: Peer to peer and crowdfunding sites link borrowers and lenders

Creating a 関係: Peer to peer and crowdfunding 場所/位置s link borrowers and 貸す人s

Peer to peer lending/crowdfunding

早期に 行う/開催する/段階 companies may want to 調査/捜査する peer-to-peer (P2P) 壇・綱領・公約s such as InvestDen and 基金ing Circle, which match growing companies 直接/まっすぐに with organisations and individuals who want to lend to them.?

The idea is that, by cutting out the banks, individuals who lend to you get a better 率 of return. At the same time, your 商売/仕事 may be able to borrow at a cheaper 率 than the banks 申し込む/申し出 - if you have a good credit 得点する/非難する/20.

These 貸付金s are collated so that 貸す人s' money is put into a bucket of different companies or individuals put together by the 壇・綱領・公約 to even out their 危険 profile.

The 危険s of this type of 財政/金融ing are borne おもに by the 貸す人s as their money isn't 保護するd by the FSCS. However, SMEs who borrow through peer to peer lending need to 扱う/治療する it the same as they would a bank 貸付金 - you won't やむを得ず be 受託するd, and if you don't 支払う/賃金 it 支援する on time your credit 得点する/非難する/20 may be 影響する/感情d and you may be chased by a 負債 collection 機関.

一方/合間, crowdfunding lets individuals financially 支援する your 製品 or service. On some 場所/位置s the 目的(とする) of this is to help charitable or socially conscious 事業/計画(する)s get off the ground, and the 支援者s get nothing 支援する other than the satisfaction of seeing it come to life.?

But usually, 商売/仕事s 申し込む/申し出 something in return, like 公正,普通株主権 (株) in the 商売/仕事, or 負債 (社債s or 小型の-社債s).

Once on the crowdfunding 壇・綱領・公約, you have a 始める,決める time-でっちあげる,人を罪に陥れる to attract the 基金ing you need. In most 事例/患者s you will not receive any of the 投資 if you 落ちる short of the 的, but you are usually 許すd to raise more than your 的. This means it's important not to 始める,決める a 的 higher than you can realistically raise.?

Crowdfunding can be a useful marketing 演習 in itself, helping to raise the profile of your 商売/仕事 while (hopefully) attracting your 願望(する)d level of 基金ing. ???

Angel 投資家s

Angel 投資家s tend to be successful or 豊富な 商売/仕事 people who want to financially 支援する p romising companies, usually in 交流 for 負債 or 公正,普通株主権. These 投資家s will いつかs also 申し込む/申し出 指導/手引 and support, and will often have 専門的知識 in the 部門 they are 投資するing in.

Sharma says: 'Angel 投資家s can be a good 選択 for the 最高の ambitious, as they often 供給する a sizeable lump sum. They frequently 行為/法令/行動する as 商売/仕事 助言者s too, and are happy to 投資する time to guide start-ups.?

'Making sure you are 適格の for the Seed 企業 投資 計画/陰謀 (SEIS) can make the 投資 かなり more attractive to these 投資家s, and can mitigate the higher 危険 伴う/関わるd with large 量s of money.'

Unlikely bedfellows: McDonalds once held a 33 per cent stake in Pret a Manger

ありそうもない bedfellows: McDonalds once held a 33 per cent 火刑/賭ける in Pret a Manger

投機・賭ける 資本/首都 会社/堅いs

投機・賭ける 資本/首都 会社/堅いs usually 申し込む/申し出 much bigger sums than angel 投資家s - usually at least £1million - ?but are likely to 推定する/予想する a higher 率 of return and/or more eq uity in your 商売/仕事.?

Sharma says: 'A more 設立するd high growth company with excellent 可能性のある, for example one with 価値のある 知識人 所有物/資産/財産, may be 井戸/弁護士席-ふさわしい to 投機・賭ける 資本/首都. This can work 井戸/弁護士席 if your 目的(とする) is to 増加する value in a short time, for example, if you’re 目的(とする)ing to sell the 商売/仕事 in three years.'

While this level of 基金ing can have a 抱擁する 衝撃 on your 商売/仕事, 投機・賭ける 資本主義者s can also take a long time to decide whether to 投資する, so this method may not be a good choice if you need 基金ing quickly.?

商売/仕事s also have the 選択 of selling their 知識人 所有物/資産/財産 ?- the ideas behind their 製品 or service - often in the form of a 特許 or copyright that they have already 安全な・保証するd.?

法人組織の/企業の 投資?

It may sound 反対する-intuitive, but small companies can いつかs attract 基金ing from more 設立するd 会社/堅いs in the same 産業. For example, in the 2000s, McDonald's took a 33 per cent 火刑/賭ける in upmarket 挟む chain Pret a Manger and Google 投資するd $1billion in fellow search engine AOL, as part of a 戦略の 同盟.

Sharma says says: 'If you ha ve a 破壊的な 製品, consider speaking with the companies you are looking to shake-up ? they might be keen to buy a 火刑/賭ける in the 商売/仕事 as a 防御の 手段.?

'Just make sure a 法人組織の/企業の 投資家 is keen to 株 in your success, rather than 簡単に neutralise the 競争.'

What makes a winning pitch?

Once you've worked out which form of 投資 is 権利 for you, the next step is to make sure you nail your 基金ing pitch.?

The best way of doing this will depend on your audience. For example, crowdfunding 投資家s are ありそうもない to be 専門家s in your field, so you need to be (疑いを)晴らす in your pitch about what your 商売/仕事 has 始める,決める out to 達成する and why this 代表するs an exciting 適切な時期 for them.?

一方/合間, 投機・賭ける 資本主義者s or angel 投資家s are likely to ask 調査(する)ing questions about the inner workings of your 商売/仕事 - so you need to be 用意が出来ている for that and make sure you know all your facts and 人物/姿/数字s.

However, there are a few tips all small 商売/仕事s would do 井戸/弁護士席 to 耐える in mind, 関わりなく who they are pitching to.?

Sharma says: 'You should be able to explain your 商売/仕事 in one or two simple 宣告,判決s. 存在 able to succinctly 述べる your 製品 or service, and the problem it solves, is 批判的な to 安全な・保証するing 投資.

'For 確かな 部門s, such as 科学(工学)技術, it can be helpful to give a demonstration, or talk through a 原型, which will help 可能性のある funders to visualise a コンビナート/複合体 idea.'

While 支援者s may think your idea is good, they will also want to know pretty 早期に on what's in it for them financially.?

Sharma says: 'One of the most important things to get across is how you 計画(する) on 生成するing 歳入. The 底(に届く) line is that 支援者s look for a 財政上の return, so you need to 証明する that your idea is a 約束ing 投資.

'Lastly, excite 投資家s! Enthusiasm for a 投機・賭ける, 加える 表現 of your own 専門的知識 and tenacity can be a 広大な/多数の/重要な 資産.'?
