It is a Îà»÷¤Î picture for the most expensive places to rent, with the »ñËÜ¡¿¼óÅÔ ³¬µéd ºÇ¹â¤Î¡¤¤ò±Û¤¹ of that ̾Êí¡Ê¤ËºÜ¤»¤ë¡Ë¡¿É½¡Ê¤Ë¤¢¤²¤ë¡Ë too.

Home ¹ØÆþ¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ë ¿Íʪ¡¿»Ñ¡¿¿ô»ús calculated by Rightmove assumed that first-time Ç㤤¼ês in Scotland and ¤à¤Á¤ÎÀ×s have a 20 per cent deposit, and first-time Ç㤤¼ês in England have a 25 per cent deposit.
The size of deposit was based on ÉáÄ̤Ρ¿Ê¿¶Ñ¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ës from UK ºâÀ¯¡¿¶âÍ», which ÌÀ¤é¤«¤Ë¤¹¤ë¡¿Ï³¤é¤¹d that more first-time Ç㤤¼ês are choosing longer ÊÖºÑ ¾ò·ï to ²þÁ±¤¹¤ë their affordability.
As such, the ÊÖºÑ ¾Î¤¹¤ë¡¤¸Æ¤Ö¡¿´ü´Ö¡¿ÍѸì used in the Rightmove ·×»»¡¿¸«ÀѤês was 35 years. Rightmove also assumed that the typical first-time Ç㤤¼ê ½êÍʪ¡¿»ñ»º¡¿ºâ»º had two bedrooms or ¤¤¤Ã¤½¤¦¾¯¤Ê¤¯.

For those in the ÄÂÂߤ·¤Î market, the most expensive place to rent outside of London is Oxford, where an ÉáÄ̤Ρ¿Ê¿¶Ñ¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ë two-bedroom or small home costs ¡ò1,561 a month.
At the other end of the µ¬ÌÏ, the cheapest city for a tenant who is looking for a two-bedroom or smaller ½êÍʪ¡¿»ñ»º¡¿ºâ»º is Carlisle where such rents are ¡ò607 a month.
Mortgage Ψs are ¤ï¤º¤«¤Ë higher than a year ago, but have stabilised since the ĺÅÀ¡Ê¤Ë㤹¤ë¡Ë in July 2023.

Rightmove ¡Ê¿ÍÌ¿¤Ê¤É¤ò¡ËÃ¥¤¦¡¤¼çÄ¥¤¹¤ëd that even if a first-time Ç㤤¼ê had a smaller deposit of 15 per cent and sought to ÊÖ¤¹ their mortgage over a shorter mortgage ¾Î¤¹¤ë¡¤¸Æ¤Ö¡¿´ü´Ö¡¿ÍѸì of 25 years, it would still be cheaper to »Ùʧ¤¦¡¿Ä¶â a mortgage than rent in 39 out of Britain's 50 largest cities outside of London.
Rightmove's Tim Bannister said: 'These ºÇ¿·¤Î ¿Íʪ¡¿»Ñ¡¿¿ô»ús ºÇ¹âĬ¤Î¾ìÌÌ why so many people remain ·èÄꤹ¤ëd to get ¤Î¾å¤Ë the ladder, as the µÞ¤Ë¾å¤¬¤ëing costs of renting has meant buying has remained attractive even with higher mortgage Ψs.
'Longer mortgage-¾ò·ï are becoming more ¤¢¤ê¤Õ¤ì¤¿ as a way to ²þÁ±¤¹¤ë Á´ÂΤˤ錄¤ë affordability and ¸º¤º¤ë ·îËè¤Î »Ùʧ¤¤¡Ê³Û¡Ës, though first-time Ç㤤¼ês should be aware of what they are »Ùʧ¤¦¡¿Ä¶âing in Íø±×¡¿¶½Ì£ compared with their actual mortgage.
