If you use divx 3.11 codec make sure to adjust brightness in the corresponding bsplayer settings tab; a firend of mine had always a black picture because bsplayer overrode the codecs settings with his own (which were stupidly enough all set to zero by default...). Alternatively you should make sure that "don?¡­t load divx settings" in the options is checked.
Next you could try to set the divx4/5 codec definitely to play your div3 files by selecting "use div4(5) decoder for..." in the video tab.
If this doesn?¡­t help uninstall all other codecs and install ffdshow (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/f...7.exe?download); it is an all in one codec (even plays xvid) and should solve your problem.
